Whats the difference between 18awg and 28awg???

I have just bought a hdmi cable from ebay...mine is 18-awg...is that bad? what is the difference between them?

AWG stands for American Wire Gauge.  The smaller the number the bigger the wire.  On electrical wiring the bigger the wire the more current it can hadle.  On HDMI cables though im not sure what the advantage of a bigger wire would be.  Â
