IF I install a 500 gb Harddrive will the PS3 read it ?

In other words, will I be able to use the 450 gb? (- 50 due to space required for what ever reason)

Does anyone know the limit ?

I saw a internal santa hardrive 1.5 Tb.

Would the PS3 be able to use that?

Thanks

Just make sure its an ATA 2.5" laptop hard drive, the space you get is what the hard drive tells you to be(well after the -10% limit). Hard drives are different from RAMs.

if i remember correctly, HDDs above a certain size need to be partifioned in a certain format on the PS3, not sure if you're required to do it for the 500gb tho

The limit is the amount of space we can make a 2.5" SATA internal drive have. ATM the limit is 500gb, but i believe that will shortly be broken by a 750gb or 1tb HDD.

It'll format when you put it in the PS3.

As long as it is a SATA 2.5 anything should fit, (but why would you want something bigger than a 500Gb?) btw anyone know if any 32" can have nay higher res than 1330x900?
