i have a 120gb slim and only have 10gb of free space left. you need to account for the fact that 7-10 gbs are used just for the system information so a 60gb is more like 53. and beyond that what you use your ps3 for. i have tons of music stored on my ps3 and have tons of psn games and theres the game saves that go along with that and theres the games that require an install. so believe it or not it can fill up quick
some of the older models are more likely to YLOD (yellow lite of death). although the 60gb has backwards compatibility and the slim doesnt.
whats wrong with a used 60 gb I dont really care just out of curiosity I will probably by the 120 gblayton2012They're much less reliable than brand new models. Go for a 120GB unless PS2 BC is an absolute must.
Is 60 gb enough or do you think I need more whats the advantage of having more gb.layton2012Yeah 60gb is plenty. Once you're done with games you can always delete the installs (if they have any).
well depending on if you can get a warrenty with the 60gb and how long it lasts. it might be a safer option to get the slim and a ps2 unless you get a long warrenty at a decent price, which i dont know if they will offer one.
If you plan on buying a lot of games, many of them you have to install data before playing them or have to download a patch... It can fill up kind of quickly if you only have a 60 GB.

This. Some games can be quite large (Gran Turismo 5's install size is around 8 GBs, I believe), but that's an extreme example.

A lot of used consoles have just been temporarily fixed and sold. When I was trying to fix my own PS3 the majority of threads I read included statements like "Wow this trick worked! Now off to Gamestop to sell it before it breaks again!"
I'd buy one of the new 120GB. If you need more space upgrading the HDD is easy.
I had 80gb, but it wasn't enough. So I bought a 500gb hard drive. That works for me. I would've preferred larger, but the price difference wasn't worth it.
I have a 320 and I'm at about 50 so far, I can't see me hitting 320 since I only use it for games, I may upgrade if I decide to store music on it though.
60GB, no way. I just upgraded my PS3 with a 5400rpm 320GB, and before that i had a 7200rpm 500GB but i got worried about the extra few degress of heat so i put the 320GB back in. If you want to enjoy your PS3 to the maximum, movies, games, videos, demos whatever you need much more than 60GB. If you have an external HDD that you can dump stuff off onto you could get by that way, but it's a pain loading things back on and off just to make room for a demo.
Go as big as you can get. There's lots of patches, updates for games along with the crap load of install data. I Have 80 GB ps3 & i have to constantly delete game data from other games in order to play new ones. Then when i want to play old games i have to delete new game data lol. I think i've played less than 20 games on my 80 gb ps3 & that thing filled up ages ago. Storage fills up on the ps3 much quicker than a 360 because of installation.
120GB should be fine.
It really depends on how much you plan to download and how many games you own. I've got a 250GB with 30GB remaining but only because I have so many games needlessly installed.
