yup 5.5 million, more now seeing that news is fairly old. But yeah after september so many awesumm ps3 exclusive games are coming out. The firmwares will have come out making your experience even better. Free online. A supercomputer at home (yes supercomputer 2 teraflops of processing power available, highest is 10 teraflops so far) and you can do virtually anything with it, ive made it my work, media, gaming hub throughout the whole house. And ive got the other console too. If you want a ps3, id tell you to get it after christmas or at christmas when specials are on, or get it from ebay (cheap cheap).

nah i dun think so, i got mine of ebay for 800 dollars (australian, 200 dollars less), free game, extra controller, 500 dollars in vouchers to toys r us n warrantee. I reckon thats a gud buy :D

Get it next year. As a former owner of the PS3 and a owner of the other console all the multiplatforms are better on the other console anyways. As for all these exclusives that are coming for the PS3 this year that peopel keep bringin up.....what are they and were are they? I was excited a while back for LAIR, but I think the motion sensing only controls will kill it, and the lack of rumble is really starting to bother me. The PS3 is a decen deal if you want a budget pc with decen multimedia and a blu-ray drive....but haven't the PS consoles always been a games first console?...Something the PS3 fails at...for this year anyway.

theirs only one thing i hate about my ps3 is that it has just come out with all the games i have for my 360 i mean cod3,vegas,rr6,oblivion come on its just copying the old 360 games the only new ones are resistance and motorstorm i wish i didnt pay £425 for a expensive console with old games

Price drop by christmas, no white color, tons of great games by september, about 12 or 15 big titles trhoughout the christmas season. ITs doin just as well as the 360 did if not better in its first 6 months. 5.5million americahellyeah
PS3 is doing better than the 360 was it's first year, there's a more and diverse selection of games available, and the oncoming game releases are great, plus there's the whole Blu-Ray thing gives the PS3 a bright future on top of the console market.

Dude, just a quick thing...not to flame or get an arguement started but you traded in a machine that will kick the daylights out of the other box, with everything that the PS3 has to offer? Wow....I'm not sure what to reply to that with.......A machine that is going to have an amazing line up of games in the next couple of months, blu-ray tech, free online and a machine that has a very little "blow up" rate for a machine that, Don't get me wrong, has some amazing games, but has a HUGE failure rate? I see improved online play through PSN/Home, more game that aren't mere sloopy ports (in my opinion Rain6:LV and GRAW2 will be better then F.E.A.R) but solidly built games and oh course, price drop (might I suggest bringing back the 20GB and just lowering $50)

I disagree. What does the PS3 have to offer? Every feature the PS3 has, multimedia wise...the 360 has plus more. The only thing that the 360 needs is card readers which for me is a waste anyway. Were are the custom soundtracks for the PS3? Wwere is ONE friends list that is unified were you can private chat through ANY game, not just the dashboard/XMB? Were are the custom backgrounds and themes? Home is just going to be an add on that makes the XMB obsolete....Sony should have made everything unified and it should have had tons more features from the begining but they did this to themselves...they touted to be superior from the start and they have not been. Free online doesant equal better...it doesnt beat LIVE, I know I have played both Sorry you fail.

I respect evryones opinions in the PS3 boards, but really unless you hate MS or dont own a 360 yet....there is no reaon to have a PS3 other than for the future...which to me makes more sense to just wait for a prioce drop. Its been fun in here posting and stuff, but the trouble is, Sony fans are the worst. You cant take truth....This is all truth, right now the PS3 doesnt stack up, and that is Sony fault for over hyping...I got my money back for my $600.00 waste of space and will finally get to enjoy Games and not a shine blu-ray player. I can see the post's now...but...but...but teh Cell....teh blu-ray..please both unproven, still havnt seen anything that utilizes them....besides the memory bandwidth, drive speed, and custom GPU of the 360 kill the RSX and blu-ray drive....whatever, im glad you guys enjoy it, but its just such a waste right now and I would hate to see someone waste that kind of money on something that has nothing going for it.

i disagree the "other console" is right now offering much more: a cheaper price, TONS of better games, better multipats,
better graphics, and lot's of upcoming games, also other feautures like downloading hd tv shows and movie, arcade games,
lots of demos, music videos and great multiplayer games!!.

I was excited a while back for LAIR, but I think the motion sensing only controls will kill it, and the lack of rumble is really starting to bother me. The PS3 is a decen deal if you want a budget pc with decen multimedia and a blu-ray drive....but haven't the PS consoles always been a games first console?...Something the PS3 fails at...for this year anyway.
No matter what anybody else says....price is a big reason the PS3 isnt doing so hot $600.00 for a console that cant do more than the other console, just uses a bigger disc format wich remains un proven...Hmmmm....not the main reason but its a part of it. Apparently Sony has forgotten what GAMERS want. Just my opinion but Id wait for a year or so or for a price drop, unless Sony has a ton of games you want this year or next, or you are just a huge Sony loyalist....which I no longer am. Oh and I fully expect to get flamed and reported......its just the lack of not caring yet being truthful. Not trying to piss anyone off, or troll but everyone WILL take it the wrong way. I regret getting a PS3......such a waste at the moment, if you like to play games on your console anyway.
Dude, just a quick thing...not to flame or get an arguement started but you traded in a machine that will kick the daylights out of the other box, with everything that the PS3 has to offer? Wow....I'm not sure what to reply to that with.......A machine that is going to have an amazing line up of games in the next couple of months, blu-ray tech, free online and a machine that has a very little "blow up" rate for a machine that, Don't get me wrong, has some amazing games, but has a HUGE failure rate? I disagree. What does the PS3 have to offer? Every feature the PS3 has, multimedia wise...the 360 has plus more. The only thing that the 360 needs is card readers which for me is a waste anyway. Were are the custom soundtracks for the PS3? Wwere is ONE friends list that is unified were you can private chat through ANY game, not just the dashboard/XMB? Were are the custom backgrounds and themes? Home is just going to be an add on that makes the XMB obsolete....Sony should have made everything unified and it should have had tons more features from the begining but they did this to themselves...they touted to be superior from the start and they have not been. Free online doesant equal better...it doesnt beat LIVE, I know I have played both Sorry you fail.
There are yet to be ANY games that look better than 360 games yet. Oblivion being the only exception, had the 360 had the same dev time that would have turned out different to. I also love the psot about the PS3 having more diverse games...LOL...please when and were? This amazing line up you speak of is also on the 360 to, plus the 360 has more and better exclusives this year. Every one knows that the DLC and online will be better on the 360. What else would you have a GAMING CONSOLE FOR! To not play games....You really need to get over the whole blu-ray thing to lol. If Sny wont utilize it....why would you expect 3rd parties too? DVD is fine and blu-ray while great for movies....Is just not cutting it for games.

Just curious Rabbid, but when did you become such a ps3 hater. When I got on here you were fair and balanced, now all of a sudden it's as if you have to defend the fact that you got rid of your ps3.
I agree that unless you are willing to shell out cash for a system with few to no games, the board creator should wait a couple of months. After christmas things should turn around.
However, yes the ps3 will have more idverse games than the 360, it may not now, however, looking at the history of Microsoft business practices, they focusalmost entirely on the American Market, which prefers violence to stories, guns to skil, and blood to bruises. Anyone doubting my thoughts can go watch the recent blockbusters (SM3 and Pirates 3) to find pretty pictures with almost no story or acting. My point is that this is the same line for most of the games that will likely come out on 360. Also, as I continue to say, who cares that the 360 has more games, the only game it has I want I can get on a ps3, and all the games I really want, as far as I know I can only get on a ps3 (MGS, FFXIII {may go multiplatform, I know}, Heavenly Sword, God of War 3). And as for multiplats looking better on a 360, well lets use a bit o' logic, shall we. If a game is developed for a specific system (360) and is them ported to another (ps3) the game will be designed to make the best use of the developed systems hardware and the port will use whatever hardware is available to try to produce the same effects, so no freaking duh they look better on a 360.
And for my money I don't care about the online system. I don't play FPS's and really don't like to play online games, but the idea that i can communicate with other ps3 gamers without having to shell out cash, as well as being able to download demos and free games without having to pay to be part of the network is rad. Cause I wouldn't get online with my consol if I had to pay for it. That's what my computers for.
Seriously though rabbid, don't say it's a waste, just an exercise in patience. Besides, Oblivion, God of War 2, and FFXII will all keep me more than enough entertained until Heavenly Sword comes along.

I really don't see the PS3 dropping in price for a long long time(if ever). When people finally learn how often other consoles fail they will be trading them in. This could actually drive the PS3 price tag up a tad(supply and demand).

Get it next year. As a former owner of the PS3 and a owner of the other console all the multiplatforms are better on the other console anyways. As for all these exclusives that are coming for the PS3 this year that peopel keep bringin up.....what are they and were are they? Other than LAIR, Heavenly Sword, and Drakes Fortune Im not sure what other exclusives are coming out for the PS3 this year anyway.

All you have to do is read the little line at the bottom...been in repairs 7 times! All I can say is that he is entitled to his opinion, but here we go with a response to a response.
1) A fanboy I am not. I truly believe I researched the living daylights out of my purchase. Wow...I don't need to send my stuff back to sony. Hmm...did you think that one through, Mr "I sent my X-BOX 360 back 7 Times". Wow..hope you enjoy spending more time with your box in the shop as compared to playing games!
2) Blu Ray tech not proven.......Hmmm....let's see.....Blu ray is supported by 9 out of the 10 biggest Film companies in the world. The only one that has decided to stay exclusive to the HD-DVD market is Universal...and their exclusives end in July. Not proven? My backside! If you want to take a look at the hard fact...DVD....8-9gb.....Blu-Ray.....50. Hmmmm. Also the security protocols that are built into Blu-Ray is a ton more than HD-DVD. Oh yeah did I forget to mention that in order for you to get HD-DVD for the box would cost you an additional $200? Hmm.
3) Features.....Built in HDMI (not on the box)...Built in 60 GB HDD...($$$ add on for the box) I could go on but......I digress.
4) Games....Yes your precious box did/does have some great looking games. Gears...Crackdown...maybe even Halo....PS3? LAIR, Heavenly Sword, The Darkness, MSG4, GTAIV (Which had to be shrunk to be on the box by the way), Drakes Fortune. Let us not forget that the box didn't have the greatest line up when it got started either!
5) Free online. Yes it's free...we do not have to shell out 50 bucks of our hard earned cash in order to play on-line. Nuff said in that department. I mean XBL had a pretty shaky start to begin with.
I could go on and on and on. I mean the box does have alot of great things. It's been out longer. Bigger game base...yadda yadda yadda, but it's been out for alot longer! Dang! What you think that Sony is going to let a BILLION dollar investment hit the skids since they won the last two go rounds? I think not. Just wait.. I just told the guy who originally started this post to wait for Christmas. He'll have a hell of alot to choose from on a system that doesn't blow up everytime he turns around. I don't hate the box...I really don't. It's just not for me but you should really look before you leap, my friend. That's all I'm saying. But don't hate us or come into a forum for PS3 users and try to talk trash. Doesn't fly.
yup 5.5 million, more now seeing that news is fairly old. But yeah after september so many awesumm ps3 exclusive games are coming out. The firmwares will have come out making your experience even better. Free online. A supercomputer at home (yes supercomputer 2 teraflops of processing power available, highest is 10 teraflops so far) and you can do virtually anything with it, ive made it my work, media, gaming hub throughout the whole house. And ive got the other console too. If you want a ps3, id tell you to get it after christmas or at christmas when specials are on, or get it from ebay (cheap cheap).
