What's up with inFamous sales ???

Ok so i was looking at the Worldwide Sale Chart for the PS3, and i saw inFamous sales are... damn... very weak...

0,79 million sales for inFamous ...yes the same as... Haze !

Games like MK vs DC, Star Wars the Force Unleashed, Tomb Raider: Underworld, SingStar, Army of Two, Soul Calibur IV beats the sh!t out of inFamous sales.

Why is that ? inFamous is such a great game. Was there not enough ads ? (i've seen a lot)

Can low sales decrease the chance of seeing a second inFamous ??

Well they should do some kind of price cut or a new edition (like the Star Wars Unleashed) for Christmas... at least that's one thing i would propose if i worked there. With more DLC.

Assassin's Creed was rated M its competition was Uncharted which was rated T. Coincedence? Nope.

sony didnt convince casual gamers to buy the game.

You do realize that the game hasn't been out for that long right? It's only been a couple of months...

intellectual property, basically referring to the fact that this a brand new game containing no familar content or characters to anything else. The start of a franchise basically.

Anyways, 0.79 is okay for a new IP, it will keep increasing.

don't worry its sales are going to pick up a few reasons one ps3 slim will increase sales that will help the game and also Christmas is near only few month to go, mgs 4 boost decently in Christmas so let hope this game does the same if not well ps3 slim will help out

It was released in summertime. Most of the gaming market is down right now. A lot of those other games were hyped to the max for years or already an established franchise. Soul Calibur 4 took awhile to reach a million and it has been out for over a year. 800,000 in summertime isn't bad worldwide. Doesn't a greatest hit have to sell like 500,000 in half a year? So it is already confirmed to be a GH in the future at some point. Also VGchartz has a tendency to undertrack things a bit. It could have sold more by now. Most of the time new Ip's take awhile. Uncharted didn't sell that well when it first released, but ended up selling 2.5 million. If Socom can become a hit then so can this game.

I think its because its not that like um. Famous, well advertised, people dont know much about it...

Those sales aren't really that bad for a new IP - especially considering that it's only been out for about 3 months. It will probably surpass 1 million by the end of the year.nero_rules

Wow, what poor excuses. point 2 was OK. But point 1 in both messages are false. M rated games usually get less sales, coz mostly adults would buy them.

But I thought mostly adult gamers had the PS3? :)

I don't want to be highly critical, but seriously learn to analyze information better.

Infamous has been out for like 3 months, and those other games have been out 4x longer. If you compare sales data from the same amount of time when those games were released Infamous is doing better than most of those titles did. I wouldn't say InFamous is doing awesome, but it's not bad either.

Those sales aren't terrible for a new IP, I think I'm correct in saying that all three Sly games didn't even break a million, so selling over three quarters of a million is pretty good. Sony should have advertised this game more.

They're always sold out at my local blockbusters, but these sort of exclusives are slow burners, and to people spewing out spoilers STFU!!!

With the exception of Singstar, all of those games are multiplats. :|

But yeah, generally, PS3 exclusives don't sell as well as you'd think they would. inFamous is a great game, and I'm surprised more people haven't bought it.

The point is that M rated games sell better to a younger audience thats just how it is nowadays. Just ask a 4th grader what Gears of war is and they know. Modern Warfare 2 is expected to sell over 11 million copies. What age group is more likely to buy it?
