Has anyone else had this problem and knows what is wrong and how to fix it?

oh man i got the same problem, I'm starting to think this is getting just like the 360´ three red lights problem, I have heard so many cases like ours lately...

Man all I can tell you is that I hope that you live in the USA or Europe, because I'm pretty screwed cause I live in Venezuela and sony won't honor the PS3 guarantee since they are not officially distributing it on Latin America :( I wanna shoot myself on the foot

I think your drive is dead, call Sony :(

my cousin has the 80 bit model. same thing happened to him after about two weeks; He took it back to circuit city though and they gave him a new one. It has something to do with the lens no reading the games or DVDs

I don't think the model has anything to do with this, I have the 60gb version and they got me too :(
