I just finished the game after playing for like 5 or 6 hour straight. And i did NOT expect Hale to get shot in the head. I thought he would blew Capelli away with that power you get using your hands. But...i guess not. What did you think? Did you think it was a good or bad ending? Is it possible for a Resistance 3?

I don't know my opinion of the ending but, one thing is for sure, i did not expect that to happen.

the overall story to me was so damn dry, like at some parts it was pretty much non existant, the henry stillman radio messages were more interesting then the overall story of R2 but the ending was unexpected and im excited to see what they do next, and im praying that the next one will tell a great tale unlike this one.

Hale is not dead. He could blow **** up with his ****ing hands bullets cannot stop him. I would hate it if Capelli is the main character in the next one.

I seriously doubt that Hale is dead.  While I'm not sure what's going to happen, I am certain that we haven't seen the last of, or played the last of Hale's story.

I must say that, even though R2 was more epic and the ending was way better, R2 fell far short of R1 in terms of story.

I felt like, in terms of story, I was playing "just another shooter" that had little to no emphasis on story while playing R2, whereas with R1 I felt like I was playing a story driven shooter.

Don't get me wrong, I love R2, but I'm not sure if I enjoyed it more then R1 overall.  In some ways, definitely, but in others, not so much.

The one thing that I'm certain of is that I can't wait to see what Insomniac has planned for the inevitable R3.:D

It seemed they took out the story and replaced it with thsoe cool first person cutscene things. Still It would be cool if there was a narrator. Or Hale narrating

Hale got new chimera powers so i think that he would reheal himself and his head.

Resistance 3 is maybe going to take the fight right to the chimera by going into the heart of conflict ... Russia

maybe fight some super advance chimera general or commander  :)

I was shocked by the ending, maybe there might not be a R3 but who know. Would it be so bad if Hale is dead and there is a new lead character or maybe Hale lives and he's the final boss in R3.

In R3, I can picture having the ability to use Hale's chimeran/cloven powers in combination with his regular self. Kind of like the jak games.

I hope Hale is dead. Get some fresh blood in there. Maybe someone who actually is 3 dimensional and not a lifeless zombie of a protagonist. Honestly I could barely relate to Hale at all, hell I could relate to Capelli or Warner more than Hale.

In terms of gameplay, R2 is miles ahead of R1. In terms of story, R1 is miles ahead of R2, maybe with the exception of the ending. Overall, it's a shooter, and this is a game I play for the awesome gameplay more than for the story, so I'd have to pick R2 over R1.

Hopefully, R3 manages to find some middle-ground between the boring yet informative narration from R1 and the exciting yet information-less cutscenes from R2. I think an MGS-style cutscene in between each chapter with long monologues from the characters would have added a lot of background information and would have fleshed out the story from R2, making it much more interesting than it was.

Either he's not dead or they will do a prequel, or Capelli will be the main character in the next one. I liked the ending only because it was unexpected and not a typical ending like most of the time.

See, I'm not so sure R2 is above R1 in terms of gameplay for me.  I loved the boss battles, namely the Leviathan, and I loved the Chicago level.  Other then that, I have to say that I hate, absolutely hate that Insomniac took out the weapon wheel.

I loved having every bad-ass weapon at my disposal to use how I wanted and when I wanted in R1.  While R2 managed the 2-weapon system better then I thought it would, I found myself missing the weapon wheel, and missing it dearly.  Especially now that I'm near the end of my second playthrough.

I played through R1 several times, each time playing each level a little bit differently then the last thanks to the weapon wheel.  I missed that big-time in R2.

As I said, I'm not sure where I stand between both games.  I love certain things about each game and I dislike things about each game.

At this point, I'm undecided in regards to which game I prefer.

I do love 'em both, though.:D

I knew the game was going to be a cliffhanger as soon as I got it but I never thought it would leave me with so many unanswered questions. Based on the ending you could already tell there's going to be a part three.

Am I the only one that preferred the 2 guns over the weapon wheel system? :? nyc, I will admit that during my 2nd play through I wished I had the weapon wheel but that was only because certain ammo would not be available until the next few chapters. I completely loved it during my 1st play through. It added so much strategy.

I do agree that it is hard to say which one I like the most. They both had something special that the other one was lacking. I loved the story in R1 but hated how missions was sometimes dragged out to the point that they became pointless. I love R2 for the pacing and epic boss battles but was disappointed that the story was more so told through intel that you had to Easter egg hunt for.

All I know is that I can't wait to see how Insomniac work out the story in R3. I hoping that it is fleshed out and justify the ending.

Man that game was good, i think the gameplay was miles ahead the gameplay of R1, because for some reason it felt mor satisfing to shoot a gun this time, actually i dont know what it was that made me liek R2 so much compared to the last one.

I personally think that if there is a R3

it will be a prequel, i dont know how they would do it.

or you play as Capinelli or what ever his name is and take out Hale if he ever heals himself.

But wht i really think will happen, is that Hale will Heal himself and then, you join the side of the CHimera and WIPE OUT THE HUMAN RACE lol. you never know insomniac may surprise you guys.

Hmm, the next game will be a Star Wars clone? Seriously, the force powers were fun and all, but the ending seriously lacked something. Actually, I think it's for the fact that we hardly got to know Hale has a human. Insomniac never humanized him, so therefore you didn't give a squat about him and what happened to him in the end.

well i think its will be more like bioshockand the powers will be more of an offensive tool than for doing anything to the environment  like throwing cars so maybe his powers will be another weapon like bioshock

I hear a lot of people make that argument, but I couldn't disagree more.  How does it add strategy to limit how many weapons you can carry and have the game hand you each weapon you need just before you actually need it?  Being told what I need is not strategic, it's lame in my book.

To me, the strategy in R1 was "gee, I have all of these kick-ass weapons, which one should I use this time....*devilish smile*?" versus R2 where it's "I'm forced to pick between 2 or 3 weapons that the game threw at me just before I needed them....*yawn*."

When replaying R2 again, which is something I commonly do with all of my games, each playthrough feels the same as the last, save for the change in difficulty (because I increase it).

In R1, each of my playthroughs were different because I had access to any gun I wanted for use when and how I wanted.  To me that added strategy, unlike being forced to pick between 2 or 3 weapons that the game placed right in front of me just as I needed them.

Most people argue with me about this, and each one fails to make a dent in my feelings about this.  I disagree strongly with the change, and I feel most people just make themselves think it's for the best because that's what Insomniac did.

The weapon wheel was one of the things that set R1 apart from all other shooters.  Eliminating it made R2 feel just a little more common, if you will.  I still love R2, but in my opinion, Insomniac made a bad decision in removing the weapon wheel.

To each his own.;)

While playing through R2 I agreed, on some level, with both of you. R2 is obviously more realistic in only being able to carry around 2 weapons (I know, like the rest of the story is realistic ne way). There were times while playing that I had to make the choice of if I wanted to pick that weapon up, or keep the ones I have. Although like Nyc stated, this game laid out the weapons for you right before you needed it, which sometime predicted what was going to happen. I don't really mind either way I guess; I like the wheel, but two weapons worked fine for me.

Overall, to answer this post: Hale isn't dead, thats for sure. I keep thinking of how they are going to set up R3 and I just don't know. They won't have another lead character, because that would be dumb and not appealing. I think some how, they will make Hale human or find a way so that he's the main character and you're fighting against the Chimera. I wouldn't want to play as him fighting against the humans, that would defeat the purpose of this game.

Great game though, online is amazing except its not as strategic and people don't talk as much as Socom.

Well i liked it, i cant wait for next one but i do i have one questino regarding Daedelus. The doctor said that he was made out of John Shepard and someone else does anyone know who the other person was maybe R3 would explain that for me cause i was lost.
