What's your take on the new Max Payne?

Game Informer recently revealed their July cover, which shows Max Payne in all his ugly gray beard and bald headed glory. What's your take on the new Max? I personally think he's extremely ugly, and it seems Rock Star is trying to pull an MGS4, perhaps.

He looks like the character played by Jeff Bridges in Iron Man. Maybe they are trying to cast Jeff for a new Max Payne movie and modeled the character after him lol. If this were true, I will have lost all respect for Hollywood.. wait....

I think it looks fine. Never played the others, but this should be nice... I don't remember this being announced at E3, though.

I know people age, but I mean I think they're doing the whole "badass war hero turned old and is still a badass" thing. But then again, I guess they deserve credit for not giving him skin-tight pants.

Yea I mean look at Mario, he should be walking with a cane by now if characters age... I know hes a Nintendo Cartoon but characters dont have to age unless a developer wants them to. I would rather play as the young Max Payne anyday. If he needs to use any compresses for his back, I'm gonna have to call cow poo on that one lol

I kinda expected it after the endings for the two pervious one, There's only that much a guy can take before he falls into the bottle and stops caring. As for how he looks, judging by the fact I've heard he supposed to be an alcoholic I think he looks like a mean drunk.Treflis

I think everyone is exxagerating on how old and fat he is. Too me he looks like a 40 yr old guy who lost his hair(im 22 and its already happening :( ) But he still looks pretty jacked and can definitely still kick major ass.

They aren't copying, if you played 2, then it was kind of the same deal, it's only right that he ages. It will be fantastic, as were the previous two.

Ah, I apologize. It seems to kind of be a common theme these days, MGS4, The Wrestler, Rocky Balboa, Rambo; there are others, but you know what I'm getting at.

ehh.. as I said, I never beat the other games, but I did play a bit.. and this whole cover system idea, just doesn't flow with the other games.. hope they don't make it another cover shooter.

I don't think he looks that old. He has some gray in his beard but maybe he just shaved his head? Anyway, I can't wait for this. I'm a huge fan of the first two games.BiThBhE0

I feel the same way i wish they left the voice actors alone but i feel they should have continued the story from the hard boiled ending then hed have mona lol

I absolutely loved the first two games. Good story and great action. I'll definitely be looking more into this as more info comes out in the future.

People do age but, I'm wondering something. Are there major time gaps between the games? I have never seen anyone age that fast. I should know this because I really liked the previous games but I just can't remember! Unless yeah, it's a Snake thing lol.

I am a hardcore core fan of Max Payne. Played the first two for PC when it came out back in the day, and it was one of the first games that perfected the
slo-motion shooting ability. For its time, it was a great game with a great story. As far as how he looks, mmmm. They could of made him look just a little bit younger. I mean, he really does not look that much similar to the max payne i saw in the previous two games (even if he is aged now). They should of just kept the hair but of course it being grey. And the weight? Don't like that as well. I don't want to playing as Max being fat. But it well do. I always trust in Rockstar's developers, they always seem to surprise.

I've had a look at the new setting in brazil in the other scans that surfaced and I just don't like where this is headed. I was looking forward to seeing the dark, gritty snowstorm battered city in next gen graphics, the bright colourful brazil just wont work for me. Also I don't see how they can work the great dark film noir theme in this one that the other games had. Hopefully they do something else that can attract me to the game again because I have no doubt it'll be a good game, but it just wont feel like Max Payne.

Pretty much. Why didn't they just end it after Max Payne 2? I thought that was a pretty good ending. What, is Rock* just trying to cash in on a series of theirs that's been on the shelf for awhile? I suuuure hope not.

I hope this game kicks ass...
