Yeah I also want it for GT5 but also for many other racing games that I haven't played such as grid, blur and NFS.

I'm thinking 'bout making my own, nothing really crazy as my couch will be my seat, beside I don't have any saw or nothing like that.

I have my wheel mounted on an old gradeschool desk top, with the cubby/ desk drawer part removed. Got it at a garage sale. Perfect height.

I made mine out of a 1X12 and a 2X4. The 1X12 is the base, which slides under my chair to hold the whole thing firmly in place. It's about 1' wide by 3' long. I used a 2X4 for the vertical post to attach the top to, and cut some 45 degree angle pieces (like a right triangle) out of 2X4 and used 4 of them at the bottom and three at the top to make the whole thing solid. Then I used a piece of the 1X12 for the top, to attach the wheel to. Everything's held in place with screws and washers.

You just have to sketch out a design before you begin, and decide exactly what will work best for you.

Try looking for a desk that looks like this one: http://www.shopxscargo.com/product_catalogue/cat_product_details.asp?category_id=9&product_code=22210&sub_category_1_id=38&category=Home%20Office The site is Canadian but I'm sure you can find a similar one. This works perfectly my driving force gt at least.

My custom made design. Made it out of 3/4 hollow aluminum, cost around 60 bucks in material, and its pretty damn sturdy, plus it weighs nearly nothing :)
