This just means that the developers have invested the same amount of recources considering the PS3 is harder to develop for.

I keep hearing people complain about "lazy devs" or companys that suposedely hate on the PS3 but it seems to me like these kids are forgetting that what they are asking for is for the devs to invest MORE time and recources than on the other consoles instead of spreading the work equally.
These whiners are just selfish or really shortsighted imo.

Be grateful when a multiplat shines on the PS3 instead of taking these things for granted. Stop spouting hate and think about the why instead of "if'"

It just takes time to learn to develope on a completely new hardware/software configuration. This happened back when the PS2 first came out. The only thing this time the hardware/software is so much farther advanced that it's much harder to learn.

Um actually that's not true. What they do is invest the resources for the game on the platform it was designed for. Then as cheaply as possible try to get it on other systems to maximize sales. That's why people complain "lazy devs" etc... For example R6: Vegas, 1080p on PS3 look like crap, put it at 720p and it looks as good as the x360 version. That is lazy. Madden from EA 60fps on X360, 30 fps on PS3. Madden is no way a benchmark game, there are many games already out that are graphically more intense than Madden that run fine on PS3. That is lazy.

I keep hearing about this a lot. I guess when it comes to me, I remember my gaming roots moreso when it comes to these things. When people complain about who gives out more free crap online, and the console's interface, and multiplats looking a certain way, I have to remember back to the last system way. No I'm not talking about PS2/Xbox, because that wasn't a war, it was a massacre. No, the Genesis/SNES war which was the last major bout in the gaming world. I remember kids talking about which colors were brighter in Mortal Kombat II, or the frames of animation in between ports of Street Fighter II. But at the end of the day, we never had this need to validate our supposed intelligence by arguing or something so stupid. The bottom line was, we each got consoles that appealed to us more, and aside from the occasional jab between friends, it didn't matter. We didn't care which version had more colors, or more frames.

I feel the same way about this topic. It doesn't matter. If you own a PS3, play the game anyway and don't complain. If you own both consoles, get the copy of that game that suits you better.

... Ummm Harder to develope??? Thats a Undergradute who knows no C++ Coding xD! If they think its hard how are PC games getting made that use More power? Its jus EA who make games like that.Prime Example that it isnt hard Folding@Home(Stanford students)...

So you wish to deny "teh cell" and multithreading is just as easy as programming for a single core? I may just be getting started in programming but something tells me that doesent add up.
To my best knowledge Folding@home only utilizes one CPU a fraction of what could be reached,

I belive ther was an article flying around the system wars section a while ago stating how not a single game so far has been designed for using all of its cores (impressive considering how good some games already look.)

I believe what you described is the old way of making multiplats
From how i understand it the 360 and PS3 are diverent enough for programming that a straight port is no longer wishful because it will only lead to shyte results. (the infamous madden example) So developers are stuck having to design two seperate games and this is the extra work that usually pays off greatly for PS3 games.

yeah, devs are just getting lazy. EA is getting better, but their sports division is horrid.

Can't say people are being selfish for wanting quality games that they're paying for.

The fact is multithreading is hard. Not even all games use all three cores of the xbox360 or the SPEs in the PS3, because the cheaper way to program is single thread code... Less complexity and more conventional... But multi-threading is the future (CPUs are dual-core these days), but its not as easy as it seems.
