another ps4 thread? really? did nobody hear and/or read what sony said about the ps4? sony said that the ps4 won't come out for a hand full of years (which means NO RELEASE IN 2013). to answer your question, no nothing about the ps4 is official but if i had to guess, i'd say 2014 at the earliest

I'm hoping for 2014 but 2013 seems most likely considering that Wii-U is probably 2012. I don't think they'll let Nintendo have the market for two years without competition.

You can actually see the PS3 graphics becoming slightly outdated, especially compared to higher end PC's.

I want the graphics thats why um definitly upgrading the pc + i want MGS,GOW,RDR,Dark Souls,Vanquish,Drake's Fortune etc....thats why um getting a PS3 :D u think it is not worh it

Sony says a lot of things. Remember how they were suppose to do all these crazy things for the PS2 when they launched the HDD for it? Remember how PS3 was suppose to have two hdmi outlets and run them at the same time? Or how about "Toy Story" graphics? :lol: I'm not saying your wrong I'm just saying it makes more sense to launch a system when your competition already launched theirs a year in.

However, it will go on sale on November 7th, 2013 for the retail price of $699.99 for the 500 GB version and $749.99 for the 1 TB version. Lot of people who camped out on line at gamestop will get robbed at gunpoint. On ebay, the PS4 will have people purchasing it for over $1,000.
It will have only 3 decent games in those first 6 months and there will be bugs with the debut system.
And people will continue to complain that the PS4 isn't backward compatible with ps2 and ps3 games but it will be compatible with your old ps1 games. And you will be able to re-purchase your favorite classic ps3 games on PSN.
My guess is end of 2013. They'll probably unveil it at E3 2012 maybe show some teaser trailers and then E3 2013 is when you'll see the real games and pricing and final specs and all that jazz.
I wouldn't mind if they launched it later, I'm in no hurry for this gen to be over

Best answer. They'll purposely make 1st generation PS4 to conk out after a certain time frame forcing people to spend more money on the new PS4 Slim with an upgradable graphics card and the ability to download Steam games. People will try to save money by watching youtube vids on how to fix a broken PS4 and buy broken PS4's on Ebay. Cooling fan sold seperately.
Actually i dont expect the next gen to be way a head pcs of its time...ps4 and xbox 720 is in the labs right now...that means it is propably getting on of the next gpu gen of ati...something like a 7890 HD raedeon or sthin...together with a 4-6 core processor each running 2 threads and a 2 gigs of ddr3 ram..and here u are the ps4... I was shocked when i Wii U specs were revealed

I don't see why his specs were unreasonable. By the time the PS4 comes out, if it's specs are anything less than what he suggested, Sony will already be leaps behind from a hardware standpoint. Even by the end of 2012 the specs he suggested will probably be outdated.
I was talking to the manager of gamespot, he said that they get lists of game releases and he said that everything seems to end at the end of 2012 to the beginning of 2013 for all the current systems. So he said he would bet his house that the ps4 and xbox 720 will be out sometime in 2013. So ps systems usually come out around september. Im guessing september 2013 for ps4.

I cant name a single pc game that takes advantage of all those useless specs. Developers dont put effort into pc games because it will get pirated by 80% of the people who play it. I played crysis on a $3000 rig and it wasnt worth the $3000 spent for it.
what i expect is that they learn from their mistakes from the ps3...something easy to program for, not be the most expensive console at launch, and securing more exclusives from third party devs...
and i want the quality of the graphics to be a bigger leap than this gen. remember the tekken trailer with jin kazama...like that...if not, i don't think it would be worthy of a next gen title

More than likely next year some time.. Sony so far has always released their consoles in 6 year cycles.

PS2 - 2000
PS3 - 2006

If that were true they would already unveil it at this year's E3 but it's unlikely they'll unveil it even on the next E3. That 6 years cycle will almost surely end with the PS4.
I think 2013-2014 will be fine. Dont forget that longer they delay the PS4, more computing power it will have. The computing power doubles like every 18 months to 2 years. So if it comes a year latter, it will have even more kick in it. But then again, i wish they made better internet browsing, added ability to listen music and surf the web while playing games and give us signifigantly better render distance at open world games! And i want 1080p as standard for any game, or at least as minimum!
It will probably be announced at E3 2012. And as for the launch, I can only hope Sony learned from the PS3 launch and won't make this system so damn expensive.
