I went to Best Buy and looked at 3d TVs with 3d glasses on. Quite impressed. It costs too much money, though. When will do you think it's a good time to buy one--at a good price. I know prices will fall year after year. thanks.

Maybe when it's affordable, like 2-3 years? 3D is nice and all but not $3000 nice imo.

Sony's 40in. Bravia 3DTV is $2,000 right now. I figure in a year or so it'll be affordable...well, affordable enough.

When they're much cheaper. Look at LCD/Plasmas now. I can get a 40 inch LCD for 1.2k NZD which isn't bad, or a 32" for about $800 NZ. Both are 1080p, Sony, and a great price. Wait until they're about 1000 USD

I think I agree with you. I still have an 46'' HDTV.

When it becomes a sure thing...(mainstream)

What broadcasts in 3d now? a few channels here and there, some "special" movies and a few PS3 games? For all we know, the whole 3d thing might be abandoned after a while. Personally, I've decided to wait until channels broadcasting in 3d become more prevalent... the same way significant amounts of channels are broadcasting in HD right now.

There is no way in hell I'm buying a 3d tv to enjoy it solely for limited/select occasions.

However, if money is not an issue for you, then definitely jump in....I would lol.

I'm still undecided about 3D... sure it's great to watch the odd movie, but I can't see myself wearing those bloody glasses for hours playing games. Gives me a headache just thinking about it.

They are about 25% more than standard TV's of the same quality. I would say get one now if you want it and need a tv, but if you dont need a tv wait a couple years they will drop that 25% by then.

when you don't have to wear glasses to view the 3D

wouldn't it suck if you went out and bought one of these TVs and then a year later glassesless TVs come out. . .

yeah i dont want to wear glasses when i'm watching a movie or playing a videogame i think i'll wait till they introduce a 3D tv that doesn't need you to wear glasses.

I would say a year or two - its not just the price but the tech will improve too. There might even be TV out then which dont require glasses. The longer you wait, the better you get but in the mean time you get noting.

You should reconfigure all TVs that you buy once they're in your home. I'm not sure why LEDs would be any different. OT: How about never? 3D is not something that's going to stick, at least not for me. Sure it's nice to pay a couple extra dollars at the movies for a pair glasses that you have to give back... every now and again. I'm definitely not going to sit in my house with those things on my face. I've checked out a few of these TVs in the stores with the glasses on, and I didn't notice anything but a blury image.
