Technically, there will probably be the occasional PS3 game releasing throughout the PS4's main lifespan. Mainly sports games that are popular in other regions. But I imagine we'll keep seeing a good chunk of cross-generation games until about 2016. That's just my guess, though.
If they supported PS3 games just for 6 months and then stopped, I would be fine with it. There is so much life in the PS3 even if they don't keep on making games. I still have a huge amount of games in my backlog that I barely touched. The PS3 has a huge library of GREAT GAMES. There is nothing wrong going back a couple years and picking up a great game. I think the PS3 has the largest amount of great games compared to any other system. There are still plenty of upcoming games for the PS3 that I am interested in like Dying Light, The Evil Within and Murdered: Soul Suspects.
There are already games announced up to 2015 for the platform. I say new games will come out until 2016, but the system's shelf life might go passed that. MMO games like Final Fantasy 14 and Destiny are coming to PS3, so it would be dumb to cut support for the system while these games still have active communities. You also have the new Tales and Persona games announced for PS3 as well. The system is not going anywhere anytime soon.
Nah, I believe they will go with the 15years mark this time, because of digital market. they wont support it beyond 10 years, but we will still see all kinds of Downloadable games on the platform, but u can expect that AAA games wont be released anymore after a 3 yrs mark.
So from now till 2016 AAA, AA games will still be released on the same platforms PS3,PS4, but after that year, only digital games, such as indies and platformers , & other similar games will stay and get released on it. Unless all 3rd parties drop it.
