It hasn't got a confirmed release date. First rumours were saying it would be out today (10th),but that's not true, now they're saying it's coming on the 18th. No one knows for sure though.

amazingly this update couldnt b delayed at a worse time.... finally my friends hav accepted my requests which sumhow didnt really go thru... but yea now whilst i'm playin games my friends start message me... omg i would died to get a in-game xmb so i could reply... (i was replayin AC) which isnt a game where u cant really... u know stop anywhere quit the game and come bak and expect everythin u did to still b there.... so annoying CANT WAIT!!
It should be out before x-mas for sure - can almost guarantee it. I have a brother who has a friend, who knows somebody that has a dog that has a dog friend that has an owner that possibly could be working for Sony. He told someone else that in-game xmb and chat should be out before x-mas for sure........
It wasn't supposed to come out on any date. For something to be 'supposed to come out on a fixed date', it must be announced. Rumors are not announcement.
Sadly, if I start a rumor that FFXIII comes out next week, once next week will be there, people will scream that Sony lied and that they delayed something again when it was never announced for that date in the first place.

2 years isnt patient enough? Im sort of getting tired of exiting my games, just to reply. Battefield bad company has a cool way messaging your friends without leaving the game.Games should have been doing this since the begining, and there would never be any complaints or talks about the 2.40 firmware right now. MGS4 is comming, sony knows this is the face of ps3, and cant release it before or at the same time, making Metal Gear Online that much more convenient....
