when to purchase a ps3

Price drop? Not worth waiting for. Price drops are always "around the corner". If you wait another two decades, you'll be able to find one at an even lower price.

Exclusives? I'm sure Sony will have them...

Games games games? Depends what you like. There may already be games, games, games out that you like already.

All in all, I wouldn't wait. It's a great console.

just like the PS2 price dropped one year to 200 dollars and no one knew about. Sony is gonna suprise everyone with this price dropp just don't know when. Hopefully soon coz Sony is losing the battle in sales. :cry:

If you are worried about getting the most bang for your buck, then get it earlier. And when the inevitable price drop comes, just pat yourself on the shoulder and say that the $50, $100, $200 you lost in purchasing the machine earlier is easily made up with the time you spent with it.

So when the price drop comes, we'll say the extra 1 month-6 months we've owned the consoles was well worth whatever the price drop is. :P

Seriously, we all know that electronics go down in price.  I bought my tv and now it is cheaper do I regret getting it?  Nope because I have had a blast with it for the last three months.  If you are playing it and enjoying it for an entire month and then the price goes down fifty bucks does it really matter?  Did you not have it for 30 days already?  $1.66 a day?  Did you notice that?

If you have the dough and you want it then get it. 

By the way...how the hell are you a level 21 with 23 posts?
