When will the first decent ps3 JRPG be released?

Hey all, i've been waiting for a decent JRPG like final fantasy on the ps3 since i bought it, i know FF13 is coming, but funny enough while i am looking forward to it, i wish it was more back into it's roots, rather than the new battle system.

So, Surely there must be more JRPGS in delevopment for PS3, considering it's been out a while now, shouldn't we be seeing some soon? does anyone know if any decent one's will be released this year?

White Knight Story
Last Remnant
Tales of Vesperia (I know it is for 360 but namco have hinted it being released on ps3 and it most probably will out of theory)
Eternal sonata (Prey for a release in english, although the asian/*** version may have english option who knows)

Edit: Oh, and isen't it a little stupid of namco to release it exclusive for Xbox360? does anyone know the reason for this? considering the xbox 360 isen't too popular in japan, and the ps3 is, wouldn't it make much better sense to atleast multi-platformi it?!

Although I have an Xbox 360, I would rather have this title on the PS3. Here's hoping for the PS3 version coming out the same time as the 360 one. If it comes out much later, I'll have to settle for the 360 version. This game is looking awesome. I love the art direction they're taking. This one is definitely a must-buy for me.

Yes, lets hope ToV gets a PS3 release as well, I mean it's a freakin JRPG...It wouldn't sell that well on a 360.

I read somewhere that this Tales was being made in an American studio, and not in Japan, or something similar.

As the person above me stated Valkyrie Chronicles will be released soon but personally I'm looking more forward to White Knight Chronicles but Valkyrie Chronicles looks pretty cool as well,as a matter of fact here goes a link of the game in action.

I know what you mean, the ps3 does need a couple of rpg's. In honesty blue dragon and lost odyssey didn't look that awsome to me. Eternal Sonata on the other hand would be cool for ps3. I only want a 360 for that and Ninja Gaiden 2, We do have Valkyria Chronicles which is kind of RPG ish. It is like Advance Wars and Fire Emblem. Disgaea 3 is an RTS but you still level up to like to infinity billion so that would be your best bet. We have White Knight Story and FF 13 in the works still and I think some other ones are low profile. JRPG's are scarce everywhere. I mean it took 360 2 and half years to get 3 JRPG's and only one of those is actually something. Tales might come to ps3, maybe not Vesparia though. I mean Nintendo has the Symphonia games, maybe Namco will make Vesparia ones on the x boxes and another tales series will exclusively go on playstation. Namco is pretty good at treating the playstation right. I mean we have the playstation standard fair games like ridge racer, tekken, and time crisis 4. Then Namco made a naruto game for 360 and wii. The ultimate ninja series was on ps2 and that series will continue exclusively on ps3.

In short I am sure there will be a Tales of something coming exclusively on ps3. We still have that nobi nobi boy caterpillar game to look forward to from namco as well. If you want to take frustration out on a third party pick EA or Ubisoft.

Chances are high these will both eventually come to the PS3.

I'd have to say odd's are even higher that it'll only be in Japan.

well there a bunch of jrpg coming out , but only a few will make it till the end of this year... ff13 is one of them... and also eternal sonata, i think its spelled like that... Disgaea 3, White Knight Story, Last Remnant as well... but to be honest all the jrpg should be coming out late in 2008 or doring 2009 ... zeke2040

FF13 is NOT one of them that will make it this year. This was updated for the lists retailers have for release dates about a week ago and it is has been pushed to the end of February, 2009. Odds are it will probably get pushed back further, imho, but for right now, FF13 is February of '09, at the earliest.

Disgaea 3 is currently the earliest expected of all the JRPG's people have been listing, with a late summer release for NA. It is, of course, already available in Japan.

Yeah, well i thought blue dragon looked decent but it turned out to be rubbish (so i heard) but if lost odyessey was on the PS3, i'd go grab it this instant as i think that looked pretty great.

Valkyria Chronicles does have awesome looking graphics, but it looks like it's going to be more of a strategy game than a RPG, and althought i do like strategy rpgs, i love JRPG's so much more. i love the exploring.

And i don't expect FF13 to make it here this year anyway, maybe in japan but defintley not here.
