When you first bought your ps3

I can remember like it was yesterday....I tried to get mine on release date which i believe was november 6th 2006..well since i work i was unable to wait in line so i was hoping that i could get 1 from my local walmart since where i live just seems like a likable choice to get it on release day cause hardly anyone plays video games that i know of in my town but this was a failed attemp. So i was in super walmart in the next city up from mine and i was christmas shopping with my girlfriend..christmas was like 2 or 3 weeks away i believe..this was also in 2006. So we walk back to the electronics and this 1 guy was stocking sees me wearing a heavy metal t shirt..king diamond to be exact and he says hey dude cool shirt haven't heard those guys in years so we talk metal music awhile and i don't think video games were even mentioned. So i walk on then when we are about to checkout i see this guy again and he says hey dude not sure if you are into video games but i was just in the backroom and a truck just brought in 1 of those hot off the market 60GB ps3s...and man my eyes lit up like probably never before but i thought he was joking and he said if you want it you better hurry up cause we only got 1 in..So i rush back to the electronic area and i see this other guy carrying the 60gb ps3 about to put it in the glass shelf thing and i said hey mr.. i'll take that and he holds it up and says ok..and almost everyone back there starts looking and saying the new ps3 and stuff like that. Well after i get it i think the next day or so i go and buy madden 07 and the ps3 fun begins!!! anyone else care to share their story?

Release Date was November 17, 2006 in the US and November 11, 2006 in Japan

Went to Target, bought the 40 gig ps3, went to best buy, bought oblivion:GOTY and Splinter Cell: Double Agent, went home, played it

I struck a deal to get my friends launch PS3 since he had 2 and 1 he never played. I picked it up almost a year ago. Just 12 more days then its been with me a full year. Anyways since launch system was being replaced witht he newer striped down versions he said I will sell you mine with Ninja Gaiden and Blazing Angels for $500. So I said sure and he brought it all the way fromt op of alberta to the bottom of BC when passing through. I bought it for 2 reasons.

1. The orignal PS3 was being taken out

2. Die hard MGS fan and was excited for MGS4

Unfortuntly I am a major gamer. So I split my time up between 12 consoles I got hooked up right now. PS3 has been out of action for awhile since PS2 has been hogging the glory of front stage with the orignal Rock band I got for $100. But when rock band 2 comes out I will buy the PS3 version and download the old free songs. Since I no longer support paid digital download.

i just traded in my deathbox360 today for my shiny new 40gb ps3

its been a good day playing Metal gear 4 all day :)

I was at work and my brother called me there telling me that he was at Best Buy after they just stocked a few in there. He grabbed one hoping that I would buy it and after arranging a loan with my dad I got it... Never even had to leave work to do it! but woulda been more exciting if I had been there
