Last year's tally:
6 controllers: 3 DUAL SHOCK 3's and 3 REGULAR WIRELESS
- NCAA FOOTBALL 09: 1 broken DUAL SHOCK
- COLLEGE HOOPS 08 : 1 broken wireless
- Medal of Honor: Airborne 1 broken wireless
- Burnout Paradise: 2 Broken Dual Shock's
- Assassin's Creed: 1 broken Wireless
... not a BAD year, could have been worse
- Burnout's were broken from Road Rage's where I needed 23 and got up to 21 & 22 before being blindsided a couple times and not getting that last smash
hrmmmmm
Back in the day when I played my ps2 a bunch and they had cords....I would take the controller by the cord and slam it into the ground. Needless to say it was in bits and pieces after.
Another time I was being smart by chucking the tv converter at the couch (the game was pissing me off at the time so used that instead of the controller). Missed and shattered it on the wall.
Only thing this gen that I have broken is one of the six axis ones. I got pissed and twisted/crushed it apart.
I try not too anymore tho hahah.
I've only broken one this generation(SixAxis, not DS3), and it was while playing GT5P
Not too bad though, i broke 2 or 3 DualShock2s last gen:P
I threw down a few times playing NHL 09, mainly because I used to play 24/7 but had taken a huge break. I still feel very newb on that game.
On a lighter note, I had been using an Antcommandos guitar controller for Guitar Hero and then Rock Band for about six months and then one day I was playing and noticed that the buttons weren't working propperly. So I changed the batteries and it still acted the same. So I tried a different game, same thing. So just as I started thinking "maybe it's the guitar" the whammy bar came off in my hand.
So I guess the guitar was a bit faulty.
Merry Christmas!

Wow, either you fan with money or you have serious anger problems. The last thing I'd ever do if I get angry is throwing such an expensive controller. Do you have any idea how many video games you could've gotten with all those broken controllers?
I usually vent my anger by throwing something that I wouldn't expect to break...or go next door and start kicking my elderly neighbour's shins.
I keep my PS1 controllers handy so when I get pissed off I just throw them around.
It's the same thing, only now I have a chord so I can twirl it AROUND THE ROOM IN A RAGING WHIRLWIND OF FRUSTRATION.
AAAHHHHHHHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA.
-ahem-
When I was young in the NES days I would get so mad that I would bite my controller. My controller actually had teeth marks lol.
Now, like everyone else has said, they are to expense to throw so I just curse like a sailor really loud.
ive probly gone through like 30 different remotes in the past year for my tv ps3 stereo and gamecube. but ill never turn whatever it is off cause i dont like feeling defeated by it.
my gamecube would always win though becuase no matter how hard i would throw my controller at it the thing would never brake and would only make me throw harder lol
i have a trick to replacing them tho- thank god gamespots anonomys (or however you spell that)- as soon as i buy a new one from walmart, i return it with my old one in the case, claiming 'it wont connect to my ps3'. god i love americaBIGBUZZ55
I love you.
I would never even consider throwing a 50 dollar controller. Thats just absurd. raven_squadTHIS^!! MEGA facepalm for the ppl that actually do throw them

I do that when my headphones break. :D[QUOTE="BIGBUZZ55"]i have a trick to replacing them tho- thank god gamespots anonomys (or however you spell that)- as soon as i buy a new one from walmart, i return it with my old one in the case, claiming 'it wont connect to my ps3'. god i love americaScianix-Black

:o NEW DS3 HERE I COME.when i was young and playing my Sega Mega Drive, i threw all my controllers while playing Bart vs. the space Mutants. freaking frustrating game. and i was young then, btw. lol. i still have my Mega Drive, though.
and then came the Playstation, and once again i came across a game called Rayman. i believe i pulled all my hair out while playing that game. i didn't finish it. neither Bart vs Space mutants.
on the ps3, i've yet to come across a game that's so frustrating. i almost threw the controller when i was playing Uncharted on the *SPOILER ALERT* zombie parts, but it wasn't really that frustrating. Mirror's Edge came close too (cause iw as getting the Test of Faith trophy, where you don't shoot a single enemy on the entire game). Burnout Paradise came close as well because of its f*ckin unfriendly map.
oh, when i had a 360 (i had six, all broke down, and to think my Mega ADrive is still working today...), Ninja Gaiden 2 was freakin hard. lol. didnt throw the controller since (maybe....) i think more mature now, think of strategies or stuff to beat the chapter. but yea, ninja gaiden 2 was nuts.
I actually put a couch beside me so I could throw it at the couch and it would pretty much bounce back at me and I'd catch it whenever I got really mad.
Then I put a metal flashlight there for whatever reason, chucked the controller at the couch while playing CoD4 and hit the flashlight and broke -.-.
But yeah, CoD4 can really make me angry.
I've broken that habit though, I don't throw em anymore :P.
Burnout is definitely the most frustrating game I've played for a while. I cannot count how many times I shook the controller vigorously after crashing. I never threw it away though except on my bed.bloodlingThen you sir have not played Wipeout HD or Megaman 9
[QUOTE="The_profeshenal"]I am notorious for throwing my controller when a game really frustrates me. I know I'm not the only one. Let your voices be heard and if you have a funny story about throwing your controller.bryankeiI have broken this habit since they are $50 a pop. I broke that habit when I turned 12.
