GOOOD GRAPHICS!1 dude, they got gran turismo, metal gear solid!!! final fantasy!!!! dude gran turismo is like the ultimate racing game, i hope it comes out soon!!!! arghh!!!!!! well yeah man!!!

He's got a Master Chief avatar, you all could tell him that the PS3 is personally endorsed by Jesus, and it wouldn't be one good enough reason to buy the thing. 

  I've got both systems, and right now, I don't know if I could give you a really good reason, almost all of the really promising games are not out yet.  Yeah they will be out in 4 or 5 months, but that isn't a reason to buy one now.  It's got a lot of good non gaming things going for it, multimedia functionality and such, and this HOME thing, which won't launch for months as well, and personally, I'm iffy on it.  But yeah, overall, it still needs games.  But once they start hitting shelves and the bugs get worked out with some more updates, you come on back and I'll give you some reasons.

Perhaps it's better asking: what DO you want? I mean, what are you looking for in a console? The PS3 seems to be the alround powerhouse. Most of the things that are extra purchases with other consoles are already built in by default in the PS3 (as listed above by Rahzel). If you're looking for games, again, I recommend that you browse through the games lists and see if there are titles that appeal to you. A few goos ones are already out, and more great ones are yet to come (personally, I'm really excited about Warhawk, it looks like so much fun). Make up your own mind why you would want to buy one, that's the best advise I can give you.

a few downloadable games( rampart, joust, rampage ect )
theres also rumor of an update today which has new trailers and demos of
warhawk

and yah and also in the gdc thing home is gonna be open beta next month ( april ).  it is currently in closed beta.

dude you forgot more games that are out like madden 07, nba 2k7, fight night round 3, nhl 2k7, need for speed carbon, marvel ultimate alliance, tiger woods pga world tour 07, call of duty 3, ridge racer 7, mlb 2k7, tony hawks project 8, formula one championship, flow. and you forgetting more games that are comming out but yeah.

Well not to mention PS3 can play PS2 and PS1 games.

That's huge number of quality titles compared to Xbox and Xbox 360 combined.
