Where did Killzone's Helghan ideas come from?

Besides the obvious nazi-fashion that was admitted by Guerrila, what other things may have influenced them? I'm watching a movie from 1998 called Dark City atm, for the first time, (im not done with it yet) but the assumed antagonist's look more or less VERY familiar like Helghan..

There's a German word which had a great impact on the history of art in general. "Unheimlich", meaning unhomely, it was quoted from the art director in the dev trailers as well. That + Nazis(fascism) + Jin Roh pretty much sums it all up.

They did say they referenced a lot of dystopian novels and movies as well.

Helghans need more cultural diversity.

Also, I think it'd be interesting if a 3rd race of people were introduced, being hassled and killed by the Halghans. It'd be super controversial (Jewish) but I think it would make the Helghans seem more... beastly.

Right now, I just consider them nerds with guns.
