So I want to preorder a PS4 just so i can secure one, but I dont know where to order it from? I have heard terrible things about GameStop messing up a lot of pre orders, and I don't really know about any other places, but I'm thinking about just getting it from Amazon.

I preordered mine at bestbuy.  I was going to preorder at amazon but I want to be there to pick it up in person when it launches.

I think Amazon has so many PS4 pre orders already that they aren't guaranteeing you a PS4 at release, because you gotta figure Sony is going to send each retailer X amount of consoles, and they may already have more pre orders than quantity X.

I pre ordered at Gamestop myself. You have to put $100 down there, so only the people that are serious are going to pre order there. I was told that I was guaranteed a console on release day.

I really think they're going to sell out, because of how cheap they are, it's going to be the holiday season, and the launch line-up is looking good.

I'm not pre-ordering for two reasons. I have reason to believe my wife is going to surprise me with a launch unit. If not, I'll get one after launch through Amazon since my job gives Amazon gift cards, I can apply those to the total cost.

Amazon and pay for day one shipping. Seriously... don't wait in an awful line if you can help it. Or preorder at several places, try to find out which option is best, and then cancel everything else.

I have the same question.  But does anyone know if any of these places offer a warrenty?  I'll be getting a warrenty simply to be safe, but I don't particularly want it from Best Buy since I feel like they're going to be going out of business soon enough.

Anyone know if Target is offering any type of preorders/warrenty?  I'd imagine Gamestop will, but just checking around.

Amazon ran out of the launch day consoles, but they also started offering bundles that are also guaranteed to be available launch day..

I went with GameStop. The only reason I didn't choose Amazon is because they did not guarantee release date shipping. Hopefully at GameStop I can pick it up the following morning as I do not want to deal with potential large crowd at midnight.

So since i preordered my PS4 with GameStop, does that mean I can go into my local GameStop and pick it up on launch day? Or should I cancel it and go with Amazon?

I preordered mine from amazon, got the killzone launch bundle... I've heard horror stories about every place honestly, only bad thing for me is that amazon throws tax on texas. That sucks for me, was well worth it in the beginning!!

I preordered mine from Bestbuy, not a fan of the company but it's only about 2 miles from my house and I didn't want to give money to Gamestop, which is right next door to BB where I live. Bad choice either way but if it gets a PS4 in my hands in a timely fashion then I'll live with it.

I pre ordered at Gamestop on Monday. The guy told me I was guaranteed a console on release day. When I look at my slip, it says that they hold your console for 2 days... meaning you can get it at midnight on launch day, or regular hours that day or the next.

I would've ordered from Amazon, but not after they were saying you weren't guaranteed a console at launch... I really think they're going to sell out, and you could end up waiting months for one... although people are saying game bundles are still being guaranteed for launch at Amazon... I don't want to commit to any particular games until I see reviews or more info on them.
