I live in Canada (NTSC) but visit Asia (PAL) often and for extended periods. I know that the PS4 won't have region locking which makes my life a lot easier. I will have a power transformer thing so that I can use the PS4 without frying it in any country. However, I am sure there are differences between the consoles versions. Should I get the PS4, when it releases, in Canada or in Asia? Will buying it in one country limit online gameplay to just players in that country or is PSN global?

Pretty sure PSN is global in its current state and will be for the next gen.

I think your question will depend on the game you're playing, like Killzone 2 in which you had to set the Region to play in servers in that specific region.

I have people from various places around the world on my friend list and I play with them no prob.
