which do you appreciate more in a game? a good single player experience or a good online?
i would have to say i really enjoy the online aspect of games but its always nice to have a solid single player/co-op game to fall back on.

i would say single player because if for some reason online is down, you have something to play. like me, my ps3's wireless isn't connecting to my internet (DNS error) and i've been enjoying the hell out of fallout 3, metal gear solid 4, assassin's creed, and littlebigplanet.
i still don't know how to fix my online :(
Single-player. There's a story and you can connect to the characters. You can go at your own pace too.
Online is fun, but most people are already way too good (At least better than me) and will massacre me. Plus most people online are asses. Whenever some 12 year-old starts babbling mindless crap in KZ2 I want to put a bullet in my head.
Absolutely. Online multiplayer is just an unimportant add-on to me.Single Player no question.

Single player definitely. It looks like a lot of people agree with me.
Sony made the right decision when they scrapped Eight days to focus on games with online... Obviously.
Well, I see Tretton made at least one sale for the Hannah Montana PSP. lol Anyway, single player is what its all about. Unless a game has a solid singleplayer mode or is intentionally MP based then it is a failure in my opinion. Honestly, if a game has a crap Single and a good Multi they waisted their time and mine by even including a single. If you're main focus is multi then go multi all the way. If your main focus is single then don't even think about multi until the single is completely satisfactory. Then do your little multi game. Honestly, for me, Multiplayer is nothing more than a bonus. I want great gameplay with an great story to accompany it.single player..i couldnt care less about online play.

depends on what kind on online play your talking about.
i value playing 2 or more players with friends allot because it keeps me from having to split my big screen hd tv it half.
i have bought games that are made just for online play because i am a social person and i like the unpredictability of a human opponent.
but i really dont think there is a game out there that intentionally tricks you into thinking that there is a good single player and just focuses on multi player.
i tell you what i dont appreciate, is a game with a good single player and a crappy milti player. that just plain sucks!
Single player. I play games for the story, characters, and to be sucked into a new world. For me playing games is like reading a book, only more interactive. I want to be entertained, but I also want to be involved in a story. I think online is okay, but ultimately, by removing the story and character development, etc....really it is just an endless string of repetition. Blow something up over and over, shoot somebody over and over, etc. This can be fun, but ultimately what I love about gaming has always been that story element. The best games for me are the games that are not just MADE well, but make me feel like I've experiences something like an interactive movie. I've seen a new world with fuly fleshed out characters, watched an entertaining story unfold, and had fun doing it with solid gameplay.
Man I am still pissed because of that. I was looking forward to Eight Days so much... Then they scrap it along with The Getaway 3. MistakeSingle player definitely. It looks like a lot of people agree with me.

definately single player. Anyone can create a great online game if they listen to what gamers want and take the time. It takes a lot more to make a successful single player game that has a great story and doesn't get repetitive.
