Although I did really like the end of Killzone 2.

On PS3 I would say Metal Gears

But for all time- Shadow Of Collossus on PS2.

Yup, MGS 4 had the most epic ending of any game ever. It was better than most movies. Just a beautiful ending to one of the greatest video game series ever made. Hideo and his crew are geniuses. I actually teared up a bit. Seriously. MGS 3 also had an amazing, tear-inspiring ending. Big Boss... That guy was way cooler than I imagined. I'm starting to feel a bit nostalgic now. Thanks.

Oh, I can tell you the game that has the worst ending ever... Gears of War 2. Ugh. I just finished it a few days ago, and I am still so p!ssed!!!! Throughout the game they keep bringing up all this crazy stuff and raise all thes questions, but they leave every bit of it unresolved!!!! They don't go over one single detail! Heck, honestly, (spoiler alert) is doesn't have an ending!!!! YOu get on a chopper, find your friends, roll credits!!!! ARRRGGGHHHH!!!!

Now, I went from Nostalgia to Destructive ANGER!!!!! Damn EMOTIONS!!!!!!

Just becuase everyone said MGS4 Ill say Uncharted. Lol just because every time I beat it I think that will be the time they actually kiss, but then Sully comes up with his gold and ruins it. :P

Yeah, Uncharted was a pretty sweet ending.

Metal Gear Solid 4, Metal Gear Solid 3, and Final Fantasy X are some of the best endings that I remember.

As for cliffhanger endings? I love the ending of God of War 2...I'm currently replaying the game to deal with how excited I am about God of War 3. And for the record, God of War 2 is AMAZING...I thought it was amazing when I played it years ago, but now that I'm replaying it again, I appreciate how great of a PS2 game it is.

Prince of Persia. I loved how the game just oozed lonliness at the end and then the Prince gives in to his selfishness.

Not MGS4 epic at all but very heartfelt.

For me personally - Metal Gear Solid series all have fantastic endings, especially MGS3.

I think the MGS series was probably the best chronicled series to date. All of themhad a great story and 4 was an epic conclusion. The ending was really good for both 3 and 4, but I think 4 was more satisfying to me b/c I thought 3 lacked in some areas in terms of gameplay (i.e. - it was too linear and not open enough).

Other considerations I would throw out there would be Zelda: OoT, Final Fantasy VII (whole story taken into consideration), and even Resident Evil 4 (surprised me a lot when I finished it).

However, beginning to end... there is no series out there that can hold a candle to MGS. Resident Evil had way too many bad games in the franchise to be on the same level... but it is close, and FF are just a bunch of independent games tied together by a moniker.

MGS series for me. This should be every ones pick so lets pick another. I loved the ending to FFVIII. It showed everyone just relaxed together having fun. The music still just takes me away. Shadow of the Colossus was great but it made everyone have to figure out the meaning themselves.

i loved the ending for The Granstream saga on the PS1 - it was kind of emotional. Sniff. I promised myself i wouldnt cry.....

I really enjoyed the ending of Final Fantasy IX, all time greatest for me though in terms of presentation and emotional impact had to be MGS3 both the ending and the last battle was amazing. Im playing MGS4 atm guessing by how many of you said that one is the best im in for a treat once I beat it!

Has to be Half Life 2 ep. 2. Talk about a cliff hanger. I can't think of an ending that makes me want to play the next game more than that does.

Killzone 2- The ending was great, because it actually was unexpected.

Worst though by far is Resident Evil 5. The ending sucked so bad i was mad as hell, after all the countless times dying, struggling to survive, and i get this crappy ending? Wow Capcom...

The ending of mgs4 was great but it was way too long and sometimes abit boring for my taste.I would have to go with GoW2,it just literary defines the word "EPIC".

I loved the ending in Mass Effect, the ending was so epic and because you got to chose your own ending it made it even more powerfull. After the ending was done I was shaking with adrenaline because it was so awesome.
