Mercs 2, i don't think it had a story.. just an rough outline with one word REVENGE.. and then they stopped.. so more like brainstorming and then they got hungry and forgot about it..
KZ2's story wasn't so great imo.SoNin360I read the whole story from the official site , IT'S VERY DEEP.. But they failed to tell us that story in the game itself.
Surely you jest....the story was what made Heavenly Sword so great. That and the cutscenes/voice acting....Heavenly sword. It was pretty boring.

[QUOTE="CraigyM83"]FIFA 09's plot just did not work for me.caliburgstlol, yea those fifa games stories are just so bad
lol, yeah...they dont even explain why some guys are running for a ball, and why they need to kick on those nets...
BTW, I couldnt stand Resistance story
I never completed either, but from what I played of Resistance and Turok both story's were pretty bad.
Resident Evil 5. I liked the game but the story was bad in my opinion. It just felt like they randomly just threw a couple of things together.
out of all the games I've played... probably Haze. It wasn't absolutely terrible it was interesting. But the way it was told was rather fast... Killzone 2's story wasn't anything amazing, it was good. but as said before.. it wasn't really told to well in-game. it too suffered what Haze did.. it went to fast. Like it didn't feel like it was really developed or anything.
People saying KZ2 and R2 must have not played many games. If you honestly think the have THE WORST story, i feel sorry for you. shabab12if you read the top it says this gen

looool +_+People saying KZ2 and R2 must have not played many games. If you honestly think the have THE WORST story, i feel sorry for you.shabab12I'm 26yrs old and been gaming since I was 6. KZ2 had no plot twist, predictable, horrible dialog, horrible acting...it was just all around bad. Its not that it was a good story and it just fell apart, it was like they didn't even try. KZ2 says you are invading a planet to kill the opposition, the end. It doesn't say why, the justification for invasion, or what happens afterwards! It didn't even reference anything from KZ 1 with the exception of characters that just "knew" eachother. Without doing research of your own and playing KZ1, KZ2's story is almost non-existant.

They did actually tell you why you invaded their homeland. And why would they tell you what happens in the next game? KZ2 wanst revolutionary in its story but I could go down the line of other fps's that had even more of a generic story than KZ2. Yall just talkin about KZ2 because its new.

I didn't remember any explination of why we were invading so I looked it up on wiki thinking I missed something:
"Killzone 2 follows the events of Killzone and Killzone: Liberation, and is set entirely on the planet Helghan, the home-world of the Helghast who invaded an Interplanetary Strategic Alliance (ISA) colony. Two years after the Helghast assault on Vekta, the ISA has launched an assault on the enemy's homeworld of Helghan. The ISA goal is to capture the Helghast leader, Scolar Visari, and bring the Helghast war machine to a halt. Players assume the role of Sergeant Tomas "Sev" Sevchenko, a battle-hardened veteran of the special forces unit the "Legion" assigned to Alpha team, who go on a mission to take out the Helghast threat."
It still doesn't say why you are invading. Its basically just a retalliation for the Helghast invading the ISA but it doesn't get any deeper than that. There arn't any twists, no side plot, no nothing. We don't know anything about any of the players and nothing developes. We don't even know whats at risk or why we should fight to begin with! Its as close to not having a story as possible. Thats why it gets my vote and probably why a lot of people feel the same.
can anybody tell me why demon souls (a game that hasnt even came out in north america yet) has a bad story? and should that affect me getting the game?????

The story (all I remember) is narrated in the opening cinematic, and shortly thereafter. For the most part that is all you'll come across. As you play the game the story really doesn't develop any further. None of it is really interesting at all. Your character doesn't really develop any unique identity, and the NPC's are shallow (voice acting).
I am talking about the Asian version which I have owned for some months. Look for "westernization" with the NA release, but I really don't expect to see any major changes to the story occurring.
If story is that important to you, I really wouldn't recommend it. The game's strength seems to be the different weapons and the different methods in which they are all utilized in combat, and in that regard it plays fairly well.
