k well I had a ps1 skipped ps2 and got a xbox (christmas present) and now im back to the big boys the ps3 so my question is which ps1/2 games should i buy to fill out my playstation collection period?
ive got every final fantasy except for 11 that have been released (im getting dirge in this comming week) ive got all 3 DMC ive got mgs2 and ms3s and im planning to buy mgs1 in the next week or 2 ive got killzone shadow of the colosus and god of war and im picking up god of war 2 eventually aswell oh and last ive got kingdom hearts 1 and 2
The Ratchet & Clank series, particularly Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal, is one of the best for the PS2. While these are platfomers at heart they are big shooters as well with the awesome arena battles really making them replayable. They also have great, funny storylines.
If you enjoy platformers you also have the Jak & Daxter and Sly Cooper series. All of these are very different in terms of gameplay and difficulty.
I can't vouch for how they play on the PS3 since I'm not a fan of backward compatibility and have yet to boot a PS1 or PS2 game on my PS3. Plus, not to get anything started, I prefer my rumble, so I stick with my PS2 for PS2 titles.
There's no "maybe." Okami is one of the best games on PS2. :P As for other recommendations, Star Ocean: 'Til the End of Time is pretty good, though nowhere near as innovative (or long) as The Second Story. Still a fun game though - and challenging, in parts. For shooters, Black is good, but I wouldn't really recommend it as a buy. There's not really a lot of good shooters on PS2, really. I hear S.O.C.O.M. is good, but I never played any of the series. But I see you have no Grand Theft Auto? They just released the trilogy, and thirty bucks for GTA3, VC, and SA is a pretty good deal. I also highly recommend Bully, higher than Grand Theft Auto in fact. I also want to say Silent Hill...simply because as far as horror goes, its utter brilliance. The gameplay, by today's standards, is rather derivative, but I still swear by the series. And where's your Katamari? Those games are so fun!
lol i hear you on the rumble im not a big on those types of games (sly,jak, and ratchet) but ive heard so muchgood stuff about ratchet and clank i might considering buying it and since the guys that made resistance made it then it cant be bad lol

Seriously FF, if you even remotely like Grand Theft Auto, get Bully. It has one of, if not the, best stories, dialogue, and cast of characters in any game ever made. If you can play that game, and not continually smile, chuckle, or laugh hysterically, then I am convinced that you have no soul, and are, in fact, in league with the Devil himself.
gta is great but for me its more of a pick up and play for awhile game and i like games with lots of story and games like socom and gta are great but there not ym cup of tea

if you like rpgs you should check out Suikoden, suikoden 1-2 (ps1) and suikoden 3-5 (Ps2). Lunar 1-2 are also really good and crono cross is also really good, lol but they're for PS1. For action games well you already named my fav, Note DMC is a great series so as MGS :D But okami is really good and you should check it out.
resident evil all of them or 1 or what? im really looking into getting 4 thats simply one of my fav games but the others aswell? hardish to come byaswell
Really, just get Resident Evil 4. The only other noteworth Resident Evil in the Playstation lineup is Resident Evil 2 - But that's PS1, so take that as you will. But yeah, unless you own a Nintendo system to play Resident Evil 4 on, get it for PS2. Though they added some PS2 content, it's fairly dismissive, as the graphics and gameplay are both better on GameCube.

no you dont, it was a bomb on the psp cause of the controls, it requires 2 analog sticks to really function. once you play it, you will realize its genius. honestly one of the most original games ive ever seen, i hope the developers come with something new for PS3.
I highly, highly recommend getting Silent Hill 3. It is one of the best games ever to grace the PS2 and did not get the attention it deserved. Although it is difficult to find now, if u can get ur hands on a copy of it, u wont be disappointed. Also, Guitar Hero 1 & 2 as well as Okami and SSX 3 (On Tour kinda killed the series a bit)
