I am a student of history so I would recommend getting WaW ( I don't own the game but I play it at friends/families house) CoD 4 is good because it's cheap, and highly competitive. Only bad thing is that you will waste your life on this game. Seriously when it came out my social life declined for a week lol.
with the announcment of COD:MW2 coming out in Nov the rise of COD4 players will increase so were all use to the controls...I just got my ps3 and picked up COD:4...havent had time to dive into it yet so needless to say I suck but I enjoy playing it.
This could be a little strange but everyone whom used to play CoD5 on my friends list switched to CoD4 lately.. like even with the new maps i didnt see anyone playing CoD5 which is strange..more than 15 people that is

Except the controls for cod4 and cod:waw are the same ;)
I'm pretty sure last I checked it was 4, but WaW usually has at least 30,000+ players on day and night, and 60,000+ on some weekend nights.

is that correct ive only played cod 4 and waw on ps3 once each and all my friends (360 fanboys) say no one plays ps3 online i think they dont want me to get a ps3 and sell my 360
