hey

me again^^

going to be shopping for HDTV tomorow and was just wandering waht people were using and what they thought about their HDTV's.

At the moment, I'm really interested in one of the Samsung ones (especially this one - Samsung LA27S71BX) coz of the game mode their tv's have. I'm not an expert in HDTV's so when I saw 'game mode' I was like 'whoah!', that must be good for my ps3 (when I get it :( ) lol.

So anyway, I have a budget of about 1200, so wanted some opinions on what you guys think.

 Thanks :D

50" SONY WEGA Rear-Projection HDTV 720p/1080i.

Bought it online from best buy for $1850, and it came with a free $300 leather massage chair from Homedics. :)

Eh, thats just the LNS3251D's new model.  Does it still crush blacks to the max?  How about a disable feature for DNie.

27" Samsung CRT "Slim Fit" Tv. It gets up 480p,720p,1080i. It also weighs about a 100 pounds. It has two HDMI ports so that really helps. I bought it before doing my research so I was a little bummed that it isn't 1080p but after reading what many have said, the difference between 1080i and p is really minute. The TV is great for those that are strapped for cash: I only spent 400 bucks on it brand new.

I've used all 3 of mine...Samsung 32" 720p, Samsung 56" DLP 1080p DLP and now I've moved it to my 40" Sony Bravia 1080p LCD and hands down I would take the Sony Bravia 1080p LCD out of the 3. The gaming mode on the Samsung is nothing special when you compare it with a flat out better TV for right around the same price. LCD or DLP/Plasma any day.

I have a Sony 42" HDTV RP 720P, the game mode on it makes graphics look fuzzy and blurry. I always keep it turned off. Will soon upgrade to Sony 55" 1080p.

Samsung 56in DLP, 1080p.

Just make sure what ever TV you get, you probably want 2 HDMI ports and it should do 1080p at 60 gig.  Stay away from Plasma especially for gaming, DLP and LCD are the leading makers.  And if you can I would wait until a special holiday for sales and look into their payment plans.

I pay 30$ a month for my tv, I got a free tv stand that went for 300$ because I applied for a circuit city card that gave me no interest for 3 years.

That's not really a fair comparison tho...a 40" Sony Bravia would also look better then a 56" Sony Bravia (size doesn't exist i know, but you get the point)

Actually, how is that TV? I'm going to see my brother in about a week and am looking for an HDTV around that size for relatively cheap. I don't want to buy a piece, but don't want to break the bank either. It would be a gift and I'm not the richest guy alive. :)

This TV is great!

You can find it on Ebay cheaper than this, but here is the link
