Heh,I don't know. To be honest, I wouldn't get any of those for the price listed. The lg has a bad response time but high contrast ration, while the Toshiba has the opposite. 1080P really won't play a huge role for tvs that size either. What will you be paying for each tv?

5ms is fine. Honestly though you can't judge a TV by just specs. Manfacturers don't always measure the specs the same way Which leads to outrageous claims like. 50000 to 1 contrast ratio, UltraBlend Pixel Technology, blah blah blah

What I do suggest is spending the money to get what you want. A tv is something you will keep for 10+ years. Get something you will be happy with, 5-10 years from now you won't even remember the money you'll just be happy you have enjoyed a nice TV.

Make sure your TV whatever you get has a minimum of 2 HMDI inputs. Everything is going HDMI and you'll regret it later if it only has one.

These TVs look like they don't support 1080p display. I think for the price you are spending you might want to consider a 1080p projection unit. They aren't that deep. I have one and everyone thinks it's a flat panel unless they go and purposely look behind it. You can get a lot better and bigger TV for the money. If you have the JVC D-ILA TVs in your area check them out. The best picture I've seen on any projection TV.

Hope that helps.

I think the LG and Toshiba are 1080p, but don't think they come into affect too much at that size for a television.

TS: I still think that those prices are too high. I got a Samsung LNT4061F for 1750(and I think they are cheaper now) which is 40 inch 1080p with 8ms and 1.3 hmdi(3 ports) with a 10,000:1 contrast ratio(dynamis ofcourse lol). I'm not trying to brag, so please don't take it that way. But those prices are a little high I think, but between the 3 for the price, I would get the LG because the Toshiba is just too high and I have not ever heard one good thing about Phillips HDTVs lol.

And most lcds, especially that high in price, come 8ms.

I got the Sharp Aquos 32" GP1u. Its a gaming LCD HDTV. It has 3 HDMI ports and one of them has the special vyper drive that makes it so there is nolag between the console and the screen. It has a 1080p resolution and also has 2 component ports I think and a VGA computer cable port. Awesome picture and I only payed $1259.99 from BEst Buy. Great Tv and would by it again.

Keep saving, wait untill you can afford a Sony Bravia XBR4 40". The wait will be painful but put that TV beside any that you listed and you'll see what I mean. If you can't afford/wait I'd look at some Sammy's. In short... none of the TV's you listed would get the green light from me- thing is... How often do you make a purchase that size, better to future proof yourself than say to yourself six months down the road " I should have held out for _____".

Very true, but I would buy a Samsung before any other tv. But the thing is, I don't know if you live there, but TS lives is Australia and I have no idea what the tv market is like there.
