I bought both this year...though I've only bought 2K the past few years. I did it in response to the positive vibes around EA stepping up the quality of Live this year. It's a great deal of fun with less of an arcade feel than recent installments from EA...plays a little more realistically than it has in the past. 2K is a serious sim where the learning curve can be steep. I'm no good but enjoy the challenge. To be totally honest though I've been having a lot of fun with Live and 2k hasn't even made its maiden voyage into my PS3 this season yet though I suspect it will when I get caught up in a lot of the other games that I've been buying recently. 2K has a history of having major problems with their online so if you really want to play online without a lot of hiccups and trouble get Live. Hope this helps a bit. Both are very solid games. Take comfort in that.
