oh man that is really tough. They are both amazing games. If you are interested only in single player, I would say Bioshock. If you plan to go online, get Resistance 2, seeing as how Bioshock is single player only. They both have trophies, and they are both great graphically.
I got both these games last November and the answer is simple. Get Both!
However if I had to pick between the two Bioshock is the no doubter here. Both games are good but I was very disappointed by R2. Its just not enough of a step up from RFoM. Now when I say I am disappointed with R2 its because I was expecting a fantastic 10/10 game and got another run-of-the-mill FPS.
So go out and get both. But if you want one get Bioshock.
Resistance 2 definately! Read my review, but I give it a 9.9/10. :D
I just realised this is my 500th post! And in 8 more days it will of been my one year anniversary as a member on Gamespot.Bioshockraptor
I think that says a lot coming from someone whose username is "Bioshockraptor". Congrats, BTW.
Single Player - BioShock, best SP FPS game this gen
Multi Player - Resistance 2, best MP FPS this gen
imho
Just ask yourself which one is more important, SP or MP??
Personally, I love both of the games, they're both two of my favorites, tough decision for you.
Well, Bioshock is a great single-player experience, and what other people are trying to neglect is that R2 also has a really fun campaign, that will make you want to replay it almost instantly. Although R2 doesn't really have a good story. Honestly, I would get Resistance 2, and wait for a sale on Bioshock, but you should definately get bothULTIMATEZWARRIOI believe Bioshock is $30 in the US, right now. I got it for 20 with a coupon. :)
Evern if I sound redundadnt, I gotta say whats other have stated now:
Bioshock takes the single player experience here. R2 is not bad on this level, but Bioshocl is definitely better.
R2 takes the MP experience because well, Bioshock has none.
BTW, I've seen people stating that Bioshock doesn't have a replay value but I don't really agree with them, however I gotta say that I recommend R2 over Bioshock because in the overall, it's a better game to get, although Bioshock is a must play.
Bioshock. 9/10
Resistance 7/10 knock off two if your not interested in multiplayer.
Resistance is really repetetive and the story is bland. The art design in my opinion is ugly where Bioshock manages to exceed expectations in those departments. However if your into multi player Resistance has the upper hand.

Good job not reading at all... also how in the hell is Resistance repetitive?? because you have to kill Chimeras throughout the whole game??
Depends. It's just like asking: SIngle player or Multi player? Single player is Bioshock. Multiplayer is R2... in fact, Bioshock doesn't even have multiplayer, I don't think...GodofBigMacsno bioshock has no multi

Dude i wasn't trying to disagree with your post at all. Its just my point of view. I found Resistance repetitive due to the fact the enemy always came at you in swarms in the same manner in environments that look the same. No need to try and start something out of nothing i respect your view so why can't you be courteous and respect mine?[QUOTE="GreenGoblin2099"][QUOTE="Keir21"]Bioshock. 9/10

a) got 9 here on GS
b) every level on that game has a different setting, no level is the same as the last one. If any, the Bioshock levels look more than each other than R2's (I'm not saying Bioschock levels are the same, just malking a point here)
Lol can we come to a truce? In honesty i never liked Resistance but hey thats just me. Not my type of game and i do have a soft spot for Bioshock due to story telling. Keir21
There's no need for one. Like I said before, I didn't really bashed your opinion. I can see why people could take Bioshock over R2, so it's not really a problem for me.
As someone who still cares about single player and story, BioShock stomps on and buries Resistance 2 in my opinion. Resistance 2 is good, but BioShock is a masterpiece.
If multiplayer is what you're after, Resistance 2 wins by default because BioShock has none. However, if you care about story, gameplay, art style, creativity, graphics, sound and atmosphere, BioShock is among the elite, and far surpasses Resistance 2 on those counts.
