Depends. It's just like asking: SIngle player or Multi player? Single player is Bioshock. Multiplayer is R2... in fact, Bioshock doesn't even have multiplayer, I don't think...

I never played Bioshock, but from what I've read, it's really good, but I have Resistance 2 and it has a great single player and the online is a lot of fun and pretty addicting, R2 is like getting 3 games in one, single play, co-op, and competitive play.

Bioshock by 100000%. Unless you are terribly interested in multiplayer, which it lacks.

oh man that is really tough. They are both amazing games. If you are interested only in single player, I would say Bioshock. If you plan to go online, get Resistance 2, seeing as how Bioshock is single player only. They both have trophies, and they are both great graphically.

I got both these games last November and the answer is simple. Get Both!

However if I had to pick between the two Bioshock is the no doubter here. Both games are good but I was very disappointed by R2. Its just not enough of a step up from RFoM. Now when I say I am disappointed with R2 its because I was expecting a fantastic 10/10 game and got another run-of-the-mill FPS.

So go out and get both. But if you want one get Bioshock.

Buy R2, because it has better replay value with Multiplayer. But at least rent BioShock, that game is amazing! and should definitely be played by all gamers. Or you could wait for Killzone 2...

You can't go wrong with either one. But personally I like R2 at the moment. Only because of the 50k tournament and the 10k kill trophy i'm trying to attain. I also have Bioshock and it's great fun. I just don't have time for it. The story is great if you know a little bit about history.

Bioshock. very original, great art style, great powers, long game too. If you want a game mostly for multiplayer though, Bioshock is not for you.

I haven't played resistance but Bioshock is great. My 59 year old father-in-law played it with me and even he loved it. I was a good time to be had by all.

Bioshock. No competition. But if you want multiplayer, go for Resistance. It really just depends on what you are looking for. Bioshock has one of the greatest single player experiences ever created. Resistance has some of the best multiplayer of this generation.

Well, Bioshock is a great single-player experience, and what other people are trying to neglect is that R2 also has a really fun campaign, that will make you want to replay it almost instantly. Although R2 doesn't really have a good story. Honestly, I would get Resistance 2, and wait for a sale on Bioshock, but you should definately get both

Single Player - BioShock, best SP FPS game this gen

Multi Player - Resistance 2, best MP FPS this gen

imho

Just ask yourself which one is more important, SP or MP??

Personally, I love both of the games, they're both two of my favorites, tough decision for you.

Resistance vs Bioshock is like compaering halo (not in a bad way, but they are similar in gameplay) to one of those anique games that dobnt come around very often, like Half Life 2. ITs a matter of tastes, but I found Bioshock to be much more rewarding, since it wasnt just a mindless shooter. The game's mechanics are what make it one of the best games I have ever played. Its right up there with HL2 in terms of shooters.

Evern if I sound redundadnt, I gotta say whats other have stated now:

Bioshock takes the single player experience here. R2 is not bad on this level, but Bioshocl is definitely better.

R2 takes the MP experience because well, Bioshock has none.

BTW, I've seen people stating that Bioshock doesn't have a replay value but I don't really agree with them, however I gotta say that I recommend R2 over Bioshock because in the overall, it's a better game to get, although Bioshock is a must play.

Bioshock. 9/10

Resistance 7/10 knock off two if your not interested in multiplayer.

Resistance is really repetetive and the story is bland. The art design in my opinion is ugly where Bioshock manages to exceed expectations in those departments. However if your into multi player Resistance has the upper hand.

Bioshock, it was last years best game in my opinion. Bioshock is really a unique shooter with an awesome story. R2 on the other hand was a big disappointment for me.

Well I think Resistance may give you the best value, since it has the best looking multiplayer I've seen, but bioshock has amazing story and gameplay and I believe it's better on the PS3, definetly worth playing, so of you can't afford both, I would buy Resistance and rent Bioshock a couple of times or borrow it, and just finish it, though if you buy it, even if it doesn't have multi it's still got amazing replay value

Dude i wasn't trying to disagree with your post at all. Its just my point of view. I found Resistance repetitive due to the fact the enemy always came at you in swarms in the same manner in environments that look the same. No need to try and start something out of nothing i respect your view so why can't you be courteous and respect mine?

I didn't bash your opinion... but if I would've done so, it'd be because he's talking about Resistance 2, a game that

a) got 9 here on GS

b) every level on that game has a different setting, no level is the same as the last one. If any, the Bioshock levels look more than each other than R2's (I'm not saying Bioschock levels are the same, just malking a point here)

There's no need for one. Like I said before, I didn't really bashed your opinion. I can see why people could take Bioshock over R2, so it's not really a problem for me.

I'd personally get Bioshock, but at the risk of sounding repetitive it depends what you're into. Bioshock is a masterpiece, simply one of the most beautiful, immersive and imaginative shooters of this generation. As said above it lacks MP, but if you are a completionist there are several endings and you can't unlock all of the abilities on one playthrough. I haven't actually played R2 yet, but I enjoyed the first one, it was a good but unoriginal shooter, but the story was compelling and fun MP adds depth. Doesn't R2 have a ridiculous number of players per match too? Let us know which you get! Fletch X

the story mode for resistance 2 is fun and hard but from what i hear bioshock has an awesome story, but if your a multiplayer online person like me, then resistance is one the best online games, its coop online is freakin awesome and its competitive is awesome as well and will last you forever!!!!!! but if you dont have online then just get bioshock, most people are let down by resistance 2 either because they have no internet service and have to put up with the story( poor you), or they just dont like it(though all shooters are the same these days so i dont see how u dont like it) or there chimeran lovers and hate to see the little guys get blown to pieces. BUT dont get me wrong i dont have bioshock so im not gonna comment on it other than its a good high rated game.

As someone who still cares about single player and story, BioShock stomps on and buries Resistance 2 in my opinion. Resistance 2 is good, but BioShock is a masterpiece.

If multiplayer is what you're after, Resistance 2 wins by default because BioShock has none. However, if you care about story, gameplay, art style, creativity, graphics, sound and atmosphere, BioShock is among the elite, and far surpasses Resistance 2 on those counts.

If you play online DEFINITELY get Resistance 2
