It would be cool to see it set in the future, maybe around 2030 or 2040. All the modern buildings and then a bit more futuristic type vehicles and such, with modern "classic" cars. Cutting edge weapons and maybe some interesting boats, stealth boats, hovercrafts and such. I think it would make for an interesting game with a good storyline to go with it, maybe the antagonist vs. a corrupt globalist government or something.

It's been rumored to be set in Los Angeles, or "Los Santos," as people claim to have seen R* was checking out Hollywood, and the "surrounding area." But it's all just speculation as of right now, nothing's been announced on the "era."

It should be GTA:Vice City in the 80s again. But I heard based of the voice actors being hired for the next game it may be San Andreas they are making.

That would be amazing, but I'm betting it'll be set in present day

Nothing beats high jacking horses and shooting people with muskets, only to have to take a full minute to reload :P

I personally would prefer the 80's Maimi, there's just something nice about the style of those days and not to mention it was rife with drugs and crime, was just much more fun running around as Tommy Vercetti than Carl Johnston or Niko Bellic.

i like vic vance more than tommy vercetti, vic vance was the most good hearted gta protagonist in the history of GTA compared to claude, niko, tommy, CJ and the guy in liberty city stories.

Like someone said in another thread, i would like to see a huge change kind of like red dead... placed as like a pirate or a Napoleon some what or outer space on a new planet based type game.. something fresh and different. I would just like to get away from the traditional. Lets get away from the remakes of GTA's that we've seen in the past.. but.... that just my opinion.

Rockstar's oppotunities are endless... time to stretch the imagination and show new innovation and creativity like they didwith Red Dead.

I want as much stuff, mini-games, side-missions, customization as there was at San Andreas.

Also I would like to have more guns, the shooting from GTA IV and the craziest missions they can possibly come up with.

Basically I want the GTA franchise to return to: Fun > Realism

I think it will either be in the final days of the Old West, or in 1940's Los Angeles.

How about this for a spanner in the works, possibly set in 1940s LA running along side the story of LA Noire and play as a criminal in that era. Eventually bumping into and having references from LA Noire

Would be cool, but I doubt that. I'm sure we will be bumping into other GTA characters from other games

i hope they do a new city that they havent done b4. like maybe somewhere in europe like london or even like an asian city. imagine gta5 tokyo lol that would be a hell of a game. but if they have to a familiar city, id have to say vice city would be awesome. the miami cocaine vibe of the 80s was just so awesome and flashy. i dunno it had a certain class to it ifthat makesany sense.kinda like ballad of gay tony (im playing through it now)i like how they made the storyandthe vibe of the game like high class rich kindastuff like clubs and penthouse sweets. but 80s miami would be awesome its like the golden age of crime or something, vice city was my favourite gta.

I'd love it if they make it in the 80's.

Guess I'm alone on this one, but was hoping for the modern time setting again. That or the '70s?
