Which PS3 do you think is better? I'm having trouble which one I should get. With all the Backwards Compatibility and all of that technical stuff. Why do you think a certain type of PS3 is better?

Definitly 60GB since it has every feature. You can upgrade the HDD. The 60GB has the EE.

the 40gb to me is perfect for ps2 owners who are going up to ps3, since they will probably keep there ps2. 20gb is okay but 60gb is alot nicer just because of the accesories given at only 50 dollars more. 80gb is pretty high up to, just prefer 60 because of BC, but technically sooner or later 80gb could have better BC

Whats everything? And whats EE?

EE: Emotion Engine. What the PS2 had, so the PS3 basically plays all PS2 games. The other systems (except for 20GB?) don't have it.

40GB will be missing stuff, only 2 USB ports - no backwards compatibility.

80GB no EE, just emulates PS2 games - so it doesnt play alot of them.

60GB has everything the other systems don't have. You can upgrade the Hardrive to like 160 and over. Wi-Fi, 20GB doesnt have it.

what? the 80gb could have better BC? you do know the 60gb has the ps2 main processor built into it, the Emotion Engine. It pretty much has a ps2 built in it. So how could the 80gb EE-less ps3 have better BC off software emulation?

60gb if you can afford it, but 40gb is a killer deal if you don't care about backwards compatibility.

it still doesnt fully support all, only like 95% so later on YES software emulation could do more -_- say one thing and i have to get ready for being flamed...

Just wait for the 160GB version, whenever the US gets the DVR function you will need it. However if you are purchasing right now, run out and buy the 60GB version just for the EE, otherwise you will have to rely on updates(emulation) to play ps2 games.

I wonder if Sony will use the software emulator to take care of those 5% on the 60gigs.

20GB lacks wifi.

40GB lacks BC altogether. (maybe just a rumor? or has this been confirmed?)

80GB lacks full BC because it misses the EE chip

There are only 2 downsides to the 60GB model:

1) It is more expensive than the 40GB one.

2) It does have less space than the 80GB one. (easily remedied by swapping out for a larger HD)

60GB which I own is the best, its the safest bet even if it cost more than the 20GB. As far as the DVR feature i'll just get some high memory cards instead of updated the HDD for now.

If money is not a point, which I dont think it should be in gaming. I kinda like the thought of a machine without the excess of extra hardware, like the emotion whatever is it. So I like the fact that the 80 can still play some backwards without it "if you need it?" I remember actually thinking about that, way back when they said "Latter others wont need it." That I wanted one with less stuff jammed in, but still many mreo needed options. But just like the Xbox, PS1 and PS2, im sure the machine will have little untold changes threw the years ahead also.

Yes, If you don't already own the 60GB version...get that version! I am a proud owner of the 60GB, and if I run out of storage...I will simply add a better hard drive. I love the idea of having the EE chip built in. With one system, you can play three generations of games. I see PS1 games selling for $12 including shipping and handlingon ebay! It's a system that you can easly have fun building a strong collection of games on.

I think i might end up getting a 20 gig from somewhere since it has the ee chip in it still. I think it also has hdmi still doesn't it? If you look under the retail configurations section of this wiki page it says so:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_3
