whic camera view in resident evil do you guys think is better, the old steady background and unique moving direction with the d-pad or the one that is shoulder view like in resident evil 4 and the upcoming re5? I kinda like the old style RE with steady camera background coz its unique and its like a good cinematography like in movies, also for the reason that I get motion sickness in RE4, and its just like a shooter similar to other shooters, though I did enjoy RE4 but I couldnt play it for more than 1 to 2 hours, I just wanna know if you guys prefer the same and hopefully capcom would consider bringing back the old gameplay

I'm going with a new look on things, so I picked RE4. We've had that same camera angle for the longest time, so it was due for a change and it was well worth the new view.

I like the new camera angle of RE4, and with the success of RE4 you can say Capcom is going to that direction with its next project.

I think RE 4 is better cause you might never know what is at the next corner unlike the first 3 where sometime you can see the zombie eating the other person at the other side. While the 4th one you hear it but you don't know where it comes from.

im going with RE 4 because in previous games you could see around corners and it lost its intensity in RE 4 you come to a corner and two zombies jump you and you go "OH CRAP" and you kill thhem and go "whoa i pissed my pants" so ye

RE4. I enjoyed the other games but i don't like it when your character controls like a tank.

REmake and 0 were perfect for me. RE 2 and 3 were (of course weren't remade) but didnt look quiet as good (although they were freaking awesome). RE 4 was pretty good, but the shaking and runnning was pretty harsh on the head :?.

Since I enjoyed countless of time all of Resident Evil games, I consider RE4 to be the best in series when it comes to camera control, well the only one that had different option anyway.

There is still something to be said and remembered from the classic such as Resident Evil 2. The fear and anticipation of not being able to check around the corner was phenomenal. Nothing scares more then a zombie right in front of you once camera switches.

However, as time goes by and game innovate new camera (Ocarina of Time lock on), it just becomes more accessible and mainstream across all gamers. I still have a friend who prefers old camera view, but I enjoy the updated one more. It gives me more control.

Not so say I dislike the old one, for its time it was the standard. Time have changes.

I like the Resident Evil 4 style but I wish that the game would be a lot more scarier. And also, if there are zombies in this one, a headshot better take them down. :D

Just imagine trying to use a public restroom with the camera switching you in a different direction every time you tried to go into a stall.:?

If I was a camera man, I definitely wouldn't stay behind the guy when he's going for #2. See the beauty of fixed cameras??

But you know how hard it would be?

Your walking toward the stall and then BAM the camera switches behind the stall and you get thrown in the oppostie direction.:?

Business being done in the bathroom stall?

Must be rather cramped in there unless he's communicating with a laptop.:?

Depends on whats the result I want. I like the new camera, but it also took away a lot of the spooky factor that old RE had. It added to the fact that now, you werent going to get surprise attacks, but moves just as the counter ruinned some of the survival part of the game. Also, the amount of ammo found throught 4 is just pathetic. there is just so much, that even in Pro I had extra Magnum rounds.

Old RE camera was great, and if you look at games as 0 or REmake they look closer to this gen than any other game from the last gen. Thats because having a backdrop scenario saves a lot of power that was used for character rendering which ended in some of the best characters design last gen.

I guess that I prefer the new camera, just for the freedom of exploration that it gives. But I want back the old ammo system. At least for Pro/Hard. Because if not, all that changes is enemy life and damage. I loved in the old days when you treasured each bullet and they were worth their weight in gold.

I love the Resident Evil series. 1-4 were awesome. Looking foward to 5 with the RE4 improved gameplay, yet at the same time I miss the old school feel of RE 1-3.

I sincerely hope they make RE5 with dual analoge control. I want to be able to friggin strafe, move while shooting, and aim with the right stick. They also REALLY need to add a quick select system. They should use the select system like RFOM where you hold down a button to bring up the circle of weapons, move the stick towards the weapon or item you want to use, and release the button. No more of this pause the game, open the item box screen, highlight and select the item, choose 'equip', and hitting the back button 53 times to return to the game.
