Hey,

I'm a big tennis fan and I'd like to know which tennis game available for PS3 is the best one, especially between Top Spin 3 and Virtua Tennis 3. According to you. Thank you!

I rented Virtua Tennis 3 and played for about 50 hours. It is a really fun game. Plus I saw it in a store the other day for about fifteen american dollars.

Personally... even though I was very disappointed with Top Spin 3's different mechanics than Top Spin's and Top Spin 2's, I would recommend you get that game than Virtua Tennis for a more realistic experience. If you want more of an arcady but somewhat realistic experience, then Virtua Tennis 3 would be fine enough for you. I was for the most part pleased with both games... I wouldve been a lot happier with Top Spin 3 if it had the same game mechanics. If you have never played a Top Spin before, then definitely get Top Spin 3. You wont be disappointed. The learning curve is a bit steep but practice makes perfect! It offers more for a tennis fan than Virtua Tennis 3. I absolutely love tennis in real life and play it almost everyday.

I would highly recommend reading both reviews of Top Spin 3 from this site and different sites too to really get the full idea from both games.

Oh and also... buy both! You should pretty easily find Virtua Tennis 3 on the Used pile and maybe Top Spin 3 too. I know I turned mine in so many others should have also. Best of luck. I usually only buy games on the Used section of Gamestop... I'm not a big gamer so I dont mind waiting for a lower price, of course unless it's a game that I've been waiting for a long time. :)

Virtua Tennis. Fun and cheap. You can find it for less than $20 now.

Virtua Tennis 3 = Arcade type gameplay

Top Spin 3 = Simulation type gameplay

it's all about your preference.

DON'T GET VIRTUA! Graphics are cartoonish, the worst and most annoying music plays in the backroud and the gameplay sucks. This is because there is no online play, a very general game roster, and there are no risk shots. Movement is unrealistic as well.

I love the game mechanics in Top Spin 3, hitting the ball when you release the button makes for much more realistic gameplay and I like the riskshot accuracy system (you will have a much better chance of pummelling a ball if it's a short ball in the middle of the court then if it was a running shot).
