Im definately getting the se becasue i love having the special edition on any game. I think every gaem should come out with a special or limited edition. The add inns on the se for gta 4 are cool too, at least i think they are. So which version are you getting?

There really isnt any diffrence, they're both special editions, just the limited edition of a game isnt in production forever, where as a special edition might be in production just as much as the regular version. But i think there the same thing. There both limited editions, and ive never heard of any video game that has both a limited and regular edition that has the same production rate.

In short terms there the same thing

I'm thinking about getting the special edition...I'm kind of a video game collector. The extra 30 bucks is a bit much though. I'd be fine with spending 5 to 10 bucks more for a special edition, but an extra 30 bucks? I don't know, depends on how much money I got in the bank.

Cheapest 1 possible. I have to be able to afford that and halo 3 and heavenly sword, lair, smackdown vs raw 08 and rock band. Only LE of a game I am getting is bioshock and that is only because someone else is paying for it.

The normal edition. I rather save my money for the essential Strategy Guide. GTA is so much better with a Strategy Guide. And the guide costs around $20. So better not waste your money on all that special edition crap.

Normal.  All that other stuff is trash.  If there was a poster like I got with GTA: Vice City, then yes.  But no poster, no go.

wtf am i gonna do with a lock box? no thanks. if there were game extras that wouldn't be available for dl later, then i'd consider shelling out the extra money... but there aren't gonna be any, so just the reg.

You get a soundtrack with the SE. But being I do not know what kind of music will be in the game. And being it is liberty city means more then likely bad music. I will just get the normal game.

so basically, there is nothing added to the game for the special edition.  what a waste of $30.

I will definately get the regular version. Im a gta fan but Im not paying 90 bucks to get a duffle bag and a lockbox. They shouldve made use of bluray and just put some old gta's in damn O well.

I am not liking any of the stuff you get with the SE, soundtrack might be good depending on the music in the game. So I will be sticking with the basic version, though the SE does not add a thing so it isn't so basic.

The only reason I would ever get a special edition game is if it had exclusive content in the game itself. I could care less about packaging,"making of" videos/concept work, music, or trademark toilet paper.

I'll probably end up buying the regular version... there are too many games coming out around that time, so I'd rather not spend any extra cash on one game.

Special Editions are very hit and miss. The last special edition games I got were for Halo 2, FFXII and Spiderman 3. Halo 2's was pretty neat, had a lot of stuff on the extra disk. The FFXII extra content was better than the game itself. Spiderman 3 - I paid 10 dollars extra for a stupid little card with spidey punching sandman, and for the ability to play as 'new goblin', with very crappy sixaxis controls to use him with.

I guess my point is if they are going to make a special edition they best put actual special things in to the game, or have really cool things like maybe one of those cloth posters, extra game content and making of stuff, and maybe a tips and tricks guide (not a walkthrough type of guide). If for $30 extra all I get is some 'special' case with a disk of random crappy behind the scenes videos then they can put special edition in their anus. I think for this current gen I'm not going to get any more special edition games - $60 is already pushing what I'm willing to pay for a new game.

I finished the GTA: SA. But I did not finished all the side missions.
