I might get it since it's online RPG.

the single player, not so much (you dont even get trophies for doing single player), but the multiplayer is so much fun, its like a free MMO, and you can pick and choose which missions to do (or join someone else's mission if they're a higher GR than you are, as long as they're hosting), its a very fun and addictive game online
I might just get it then.. How is the battle system ?the single player, not so much (you dont even get trophies for doing single player), but the multiplayer is so much fun, its like a free MMO, and you can pick and choose which missions to do (or join someone else's mission if they're a higher GR than you are, as long as they're hosting), its a very fun and addictive game online

It isn't as bad ass people make it out to be. But it isn't anything special especially for a Level-5 title. If you can find a copy for cheap I say get it.
Here are some gameplay vids:

That is not true... you theoretically can get every single trophy playing offline and doing solo quests. As someone with 1000+ hours in the game and the platinum trophy, I know you can get EVERY trophy with single player if you so choose. But that being said, the only reason I stayed past guild rank 8 was because of friends I met while playing. The game is VERY VERY VVVVEEERRRYYYY grind filled, and this is something I have to objectively tell you.the single player, not so much (you dont even get trophies for doing single player), but the multiplayer is so much fun, its like a free MMO, and you can pick and choose which missions to do (or join someone else's mission if they're a higher GR than you are, as long as they're hosting), its a very fun and addictive game online

I didn't find the online part very interesting, and the single player game is pretty good, not crazy omg awesome, but pretty good. Battles are fairly cool, you really have to take some time to set up everyone's combos, and you gain new skills so fast that you'll be constantly changing your set-ups. Bringing out the knights in battle was my favorite part =D It reminded me of Xenogears
The Single Player game is too hard to not use the knights to win most battles, but it makes the game too easy otherwise... It's more of a set piece than a viable part of the game's tactics. Also you cannot use the knights at all online. Not until the sequel comes out.
I've heard that the game is pretty hard.. I want it tho because a RPG where you could grind and play with friends is a good bargain. The Single Player game is too hard to not use the knights to win most battles, but it makes the game too easy otherwise... Yeah you need some massive amounts of patience for that game. But its really enjoyable if you have cool peeps to help you along the way. Single player I think is cool its just that the game ends right when the story starts to actually get reallly good.
Its almost like the opposite of FFXIII's battle system whereas that game was fast and WKC is slow. Depends on your taste in a RPG.

oh then thats good. I'll just go buy YK3 or D3 then.It was...But now the online's practically empty and the few people that still play are on levels so high that they will never do a quest with you. My recommendation is to wait for WKC 2 that is probably coming out for the summer... Already out in Japan BTW.

nice, xenogears is the best. how does WKC remind you of xenogears? I haven't played WKC and for the most part have sworn off current generation JRPG's but if you can draw some similarities between WKC and Xenogears that sure could sway me back.Yea you do.WKC is a pretty fun game but so time consuming.
On the other hand, if you want to play WKC 2 it's my understanding that you will need to at least complete WKC and have a save file on your system that will allow you to begin WKC 2.

Yea you do. aww dat sux lol.. I guess I'll just buy it ? lol[QUOTE="charma"]

You should wait for WKC2. It's a lot better than WKC and it includes the full WKC in it so there's no need to buy WKC right now if you're gonna wait for WKC2. :PKleeyook
I have a bed feeling that WKC 2 won't be released in the States because it's been out in Japan for a few months now with no sign of localization.
But WKC 1 was a great game, the single player story takes about 30 hours. The plot wasn't anything special, it was pretty cliche, but the gameplay itself was pretty fun. Georama is great. It's one of the most underrated titles of this generation.

It took WKC 1 years to get localized. It will happen with WKC2 as well.[QUOTE="jasonharris48"]Level 5 still hasn't put out a official date for oversea's release.when's the japan one then? Thats kinda weird, but a lot of people on this thread has been saying that.. So maybe I should wait then.. I might "MIGHT" get Demon souls again to enjoy it.. Or maybe Disgaea 3...or Maybe Yakuza 3...idk lolGreat game. Got it at launch and I've put in around 500 hrs into it. Although the story playthrough is easy and short, the main part of the game is your avatar for online play. That is when the game really consumes your life and gets more challenging.
Fun quests, huge range of customizations, great community, and most of all, patience and luck will be your friend ;)

I haven't played WKC and for the most part have sworn off current generation JRPG's but if you can draw some similarities between WKC and Xenogears that sure could sway me back.Well, it's probably not a swaying argument, but it was really just in battle. In the midst of any battle, you can summon/transform into, a huge mechanical armored knight. If you use the knight in a regular battle, it's overkill, but there are certain battles tailored for it, like Xenogears. At first, only the main character has this ability, but after progressing through the game, another character gets their own knight, which sort of models the knights owner in terms of style and weapon. It reminded me of how the Gears in Xenogears were closely related to their owners. The end of the game definitely sets up for a sequel leading me to believe that multiple, if not all, characters will get their own knight.
So I guess to sum it up, it's really just the mech aspect. How you can switch to and from at anytime, and how the mech/knight resembles its' owner.
