Well, I am. I'm already having so much fun playing PS3 in my 24 inch Sony Trinitron Multisystem SDTV. I still have no plans on buying HDTV. Maybe when PS3 games won't work on SDTV anymore or when my SDTV dies. Hehehe.

I thought I was one of the few. It seems HD is in now, but I have no problems with my Curtis MAthes 26 inch sdtv, this tv is reliable and tough I like that in my T.V's. But that is the reason why I am not in a rush too go HD, since in my opinion there's no real poing just a better picture. But in the end I don't trust HDTV's to last as long as SDTV tubes because I don't wanna have too sit there looking at a dead pixel. PSN ID:Regza600

I'm still on a SDTV.

I'll make the move in a few months since I'm getting married and moving in with my GF, and we don't have a spare TV. Since we're getting a new TV anyway, let it be HD!

I was an SD guy, then over the summer I picked up a 32' LG LCD HDTV and absolutely love it. I've been forced back to SD for a month or so while they renovate my house, and the difference it makes while playing some games is enough for me to stick with HD.

You guys are missing out. When I first got my PS3 I played it on a SDTV, and I couldn't stand it because it looked like a muddy pos.

I really disagree with people saying that you're missing out if you're not playing in HDTV. For me it's just graphics. I don't really care how the game looks as long as it plays good. I don't really like too good graphics. My favorite kind of graphics is Saints Row 2, just average.

I had trouble playing FPS on SDTV. If you really dont care about graphics then you should consider getting a PS2.

You paid good money for a PS3 might as well use it to its potential. If you cant afford one that's totally understandable, but HDTV is the future and getting it for the PS3 seems like a good opportunity to make that switch.

I've used mine on both. My TV is a 32" SDTV one but when we were flooded out we borrowed a 19" HDTV one. The difference was amazing....but not amazing enough for me to replace a perfectly fine tv when I have other things to spend my money on at the moment.

When i first bought my ps3 it was just sitting there simply because of the fact that i didn't have an hd tv.

The ps3 has so much potential than just looking at it in sd.

It's not just the graphics. A friend of mine plays COD4 on an SDTV and half the time he can't see people far away because it's too distorted, where I can easily see people at long distances without a sniper scope because everything is crystal clear. In GTAIV, he can't read some of the funny ads that are posted on buildings or on the side of trucks. I have to read them to him since his SDTV is in such a small resolution, the text is unreadable. It's not just graphics, it's the overall experience. And SDTV fails at many things when it comes giving you full enjoyment of the game, whether you realize it or not.

I gotta disagree. See it's the graphics that are the issue. It's the clarity. SD to HD when playing SOCOM is the difference between a miss and a headshot at times because I'm practically shooting at blurry blobs instead of people.

SDTV doesn't look bad at all. I just happened to get extra money for Christmas so I bought a cheap 19" HDTV and looks great. Don't need anything big.

I still play on an SDTV, but the menu text is almost unreadable on certain games. It's very frustrating at times, so I might buy a cheaper HDTV when my next paycheck arrives. All in all though, it's not that bad and other than menu text it's fine.

You guys need too understand just because your playing in SD doesn't mean your missing out. Iplay both my 360 and PS3 on an SDTV, and I go too my sisters house too play PS3 with her boyfriend onn ouccasion. He plays in HD yeah there is a diffrence but when you think about it, its still the same game just more crisp. Also we are in a recession there is no need too buy somthing that is now needed.

I still play on a standard sdtv (32" Sony Trinitron w/components), but i'm too picky to make the jump to HDTV with just any tv. Finally they're getting to the point they need to be.. i'm talking 1080p 120mhz, and 3-D technology, superior contrast ratios, dark blacks and true colors, time tested companies, etc etc..... if my tv doesn't have all of those, then I can still wait. Prices are declining like a mofo, and soon they'll be practically giving them away. Either way, when I do, it'll give me incentive to go back and replay all my games, and it'll be like getting a new PS3 all over again. Then i'll get 7.1 surround, and do it all again. It's not that I can't, I just don't want to sacrifice an ok tv now, for something that I know I should have waited for.

I'm more of a tweener. When I first got my PS3 playing on SD was really a big problem. Hell I almost got buyers remorse when I saw NBA 2K9. However once I hooked up my S-Video cable to my current TV things got a lot better to the point where I was able to buy NBA 2K. So while it's not 720p or 1080p the fact remains that it's still pretty beautiful in 480i. Either way I definately don't want to go back to SD.

I'm still gaming on an SDTV, and I'm not too bothered by it. Even though my bro has a 1080p HDTV and I've witnessed how great games look on it, I can manage without. (Although I am likely to get an HDTV eventually)

I'm playing on a Sony 32" WEGA w/ component cables. The picture is fairly clear and all. I don't think I'll be going HDTV anytime soon. I'm good with what I got :P.

^^ This.

I was playing Cod:Waw in my 32" Bravia (HD) in SD (didn't have HDMI cable at the time) and I was getting slaughtered. That same day I bought my HDMI and everything was crystal clear. I was no longer shooting at things that weren't human and I was able to see the snipers. If you're playing something like... LBP, were graphics are not important, then SD is fine. If you have a hardcore game were everything is fast paced and your surrounding is being blown to hell then get an HD, you won't regret it.

I agree on the bolded lines. I never had a problem reading texts.

I've played several times on HDTV in some friends' house. Yes there is difference, but it doesn't bother me at all.

And I also don't play FPS (it's one of my hatest genre) so I have no problems dealing with head shots or far located enemies. I played Uncharted and I got no problemsmaking head shots or hitting far enemies. Maybe it depends on the game.

And BTW, I can afford to buy HDTV but I just think I don't need it. I'd rather spend my money on other things or on games.

If I'm going to pay $400 for a PS3 then $800 for a half way decent HDTV to play it on I would just get a gaming quality PC instead. I'm no detail/graphics whore.

I used to, but then changed and the difference is amazing. Menu's and HUD are much clearer and text is so much easier to see. Realism graphics such as fog, rain and whatever is so much better on a HDTV. It's only 22 inch but I'm loving the graphics.

Yeh, I still have to play on SD.

THe real bad thing about it is, that the writing for most games are damn too small for hd consoles, at least its like that when I play my 360.

I'm planning to switch to hd as soon as I get PS3.

Cant afford an HDTV, but am still amazed by anything on the PS3 so am in no rush. But as soon as I can afford one I'll definatly be getting one. One of my housemates has an HDTV for his XBOX 360 an he hasn't bought an HDTV cable which I think is a waste. If your gonna get an HDTV use it.
