So I always have a hard time spending $60 on a ps3 game and i was wondering how many of you actually buy games for the full price? The only games i have shelled out 3 jacksons for the ps3 are nfs carbon (because I bought the game like 1 or 2 weeks after launch and you couldnt find a game for less) and also spiderman 3 (which came with spiderman 2 for the ps2 for free which i havn't even opened and that was like 2 years ago). Otherwise I wait for like sales usually $30 or less, but im a patient person.

I buy every game i get off ebay, amazon, or used. Even brand new games on ebay and amazon can be had for $50 or less.

And the great thing about buying used games........blu-rays are much harder to scratch up than your normal dvd or cd.........they typically clean up really well.

I seldom buy $60+ games unless I know I'll find them enjoyable. For instance I bought LBP and GTA IV for that price. I also look at the game ratings so that I don't buy a crappy game like *cough* Haze. But yeah I go for cheap games. I mean I bought Assassins Creed for $25 unfortunately I still think I got ripped off as I thought it was a repetitive game... I think a lot of people agree on that.

I use to rent games from gamefly and sometimes I would be the first one to be able to rent that game. I would then buy the game sometimes and since it is now a used game because I had played it, they would knock the price down $15-$20 and there were also discounts through gamefly so I would get new releases for as low as $30. It was a cool deal until most my games were lost by the post office and i cancelled that sweet deal; dang you post office!

i do, but not everytime, and only very few times. $60 a game is too much.... i normally wait till they go on sale or price drop, and i use my BestBuy Rewards most of the time.

I always try and find a voucher or coupon off a friend, or online coupon codes. Games here in Ireland are 59.99 Euro on release, but you can easily get them for 45 Euro if you look online. I pre-ordered Resident Evil 5 yesterday on HMV.com for ~35 euro :)

I've paid full price for one game once, that was Jonah Lomu Rugby on the PS1, but I have got 1000's of hours of enjoyment out of it.

I refuse to pay $100 - $120 for games, nearly all aren't worth it, especially these days where they don't even finish the games properly.

I would probably buy more games as risks if they were if they were about $50 - $60, but these days I go for more quality over quantity in game.

It is quite difficult cause many titles really aren't living up to their potentials.

Well if i really want the game i will buy it for 60.But if it's one of those games where you want it but not willing to pay a full 60 then i will either wait for the price to drop or if its on sale or i just go to ebay.Like resistance 2 i wanted it so bad but i managed to get it brand new off ebay for 35 dollars.I payed 60 each for mgs4 and gta 4 but other than that the other games in my ps3 library i payed a fraction of the price for them on release dates or couple days after release.

Back in the PS2 days there were many games that never started at $50 they were $40. Games like Ratchet and Clank, Jak, Burnout. With the Ps3 though its like every game is $60 bucks. It sucks but at least Disgaea 3 was $50. Warhawk was $40 too. But there are games recently I knew I would enjoy purely from videos. Prince of Persia, Mirror's Edge, and LittleBigPlanet - I bought those for $60 but they all came with preorder bonuses (Which weren't that good except for the bag I got from pre-ordering Mirror's Edge). I payed $60 for Valkyria Chronicles as well but that was after I read a whole bunch of reviews.

Soon White Knight Chronicles will come out of which I'll gladly pay $60 for. Theres also Uncharted 2. Anything else I'll look for reviews and if the reviews say its an average game then I might wait for a sale. A game I'm waiting to find cheap right now is Ratchet and Clank: ToD.

It almost entirely depends on the game. For example, with a highly anticipated game like Fallout 3 or a game I KNOW I'll like (such as Valkyria Chronicles), then I'll pay full retail for it. But there are a lot of older titles I still need to pick up. Some are the Greatest Hits line or whatever, so I can get them new for thirty bucks. Others are still selling for $60 retail, but I can find them much cheaper on eBay.

If I want it I'll buy it regardless of the price. I just spent $125 on the buy 2 get the 3rd free deal at target and then I went out and bought Afro Samurai for the full price. So really it depends on how much cash I've got.

Have you seen the exchange rate at this moment in time? With the way the economy is or even this past year the pound has never been worth $2 so your paying more like close to seventy.

If it's a new game that I want then I have no choice but to play 60 dollars. Sure I could wait for a sale or a price drop, but that might take awhile so I just pay the full price. I do tend to not buy a lot of hyped games at launch and wait for a price drop. These games interest me, but they are not my first priority.

Well I don't play as much as I used too, so when I buy a game, it's usualy something good that just came out. Now I also have a Wii and it's mixed. I'll shop around game stop for a good deal on something my son would like, that or pay full price for something really good.

Since tax is so damn high here, it's more like 70 bucks. And yes, I spend that much per-game on average.

For me, I read up on a game that I'm interested in first before it comes out. If I want it, then I buy it. The true judge for me is how much time I play the game, and enjoy it of course. Cuz then I can say something like I spent $60 and got 30 hours of enjoyment, so it cost me $2/hour. For me, it's worth it if I get at least 20 hours out of a game. CoD4 got 18 days worth, so that's in the pennies per hour....I think. So I voted yes

I mostly rent but i'd only buy a game for $60 bucks if it has high replay value (KZ2) or its a purely epic game like MGS4. When I do buy games I usually either pay when they are cheap or if I have gift cards or stuff of that nature.

It depends. Sincerely, I've only bought 3 PS3 games (not even the PS3 saves itself of having much too few titles that enchant me, my brother buys most PS3 games at home). I bought LittleBIGPlanet with full pricetag, and I bought OBLIVION "Game of the Year Edition" at $30. The other entry would be Civilization Revolution ($60), but I traded it in because it dissapointed me (it lost ALL of the stuff I like form CIv IV!!!). If I were to determine how would my purchase behavior would be for PS3 games, I would say I'd buy half the games with full price tag, since I usually get hooked to many of the games kinda late (with the price drop involved).

I f I were to recommend you how to buy, rent/borrow first before playing, UNLESS you're totally sure you're gonna love the games you buy. Ifyou're not so hyped, you rather wait for the price drops.

I only buy games I like... and after waiting a year or longer for a game I like, I can't wait another year for the game to get discounted. Most of my games are bought on day one for the full $60.

I buy used. I didn't used to, but considering how durable BR discs supposedly are...
