Most of my games are new but I do however have a few games that I bought used. The used games I have were games I wanted but didn't recieve good reviews so I wait for them to drop in price and then I get them used, for example Lair.
Hi just wondering who buys pre-owned games for the PS3. Or is it best just to buy new?.skipper847of course, it's best to buy new games... but pre-owned is good as well, as long as it doesn't have any scratchers on the disc , the manual and the case is in great condition, why not!?
I bought Fallout 3 secondhand, still going well.lachlanclan
i just saw fallout 3 yesterday for 190$ (which is 20$ US) and i went back to get it today and it was GONE! damn... oh well yah to TC yah i do... but rarely... cuz people dont often sell good games, and i only buy good games. but yah i just bought assassins creed today for ultra cheap :P
Hi just wondering who buys pre-owned games for the PS3. Or is it best just to buy new?.skipper8479 of mine are used games and they work perfectly. There's nothing wrong in buying used.
Unless it's a new release, what's the point of buying new? There is almost always some sucker on ebay who just bought a title and either doesn't like it or has already beaten it. I almost always buy used when I can but for brand spankin new games that I know I'm going to enjoy I'll buy them new.
I'll also usually wait for sales. I really wanted to get Bioshock for the PS3 and I waited for it to get cheaper because those games that are ported like that end up dropping in price fast. Look what happened to UT3... Orange Box... same thing happened.
I only buy preowned games that are like 5 years old. I'm curerently looking for a copy of MGS: Sons of LibertyBillybob928
I was looking for the MGS Essentials collection at GameStop but could only find that game. It was $20... the Essentials collection on ebay is going for $30 and it has the first three games included. I think ebay might be your best bet.
Almost always used from eBay though sometimes you get the new & sealed for the price of a second hand game. What does it matter whether a game is second hand Ive to date and Ive been buying of eBay for a long time now NEVER had a problem with a game Ive bought through eBay.
It has literally saved me hundreds and hundreds of euros. Just bought R2 for 30 euros saving me 35 euros I'm probably never buying a game in the shop ever again. Except for FFXIII cant wait even one day when that comes out.
[QUOTE="tonesonic"]blue Rays have protective coatings that are super hard to scratch.shuttle1i never knew that, thanks man
haha i still never abuse my games though lol i never ever touch the under. and it goes straight back into the case after use and stays there until ready for use again :P
Hi just wondering who buys pre-owned games for the PS3. Or is it best just to buy new?.skipper847Normally I buy new. I've had a few bad experiences buying used. However, if I find something used that is to my liking and cant find it new or the used version is dirt cheap compared to the new, ala Heavenly Sword, then I'll buy used.
Get an edge card at gamestop and go used. You get 10% off used games and the games are guaranteed to work. I mean, does it really matter if the disk has been used before if it works? The only problem I have with gamestop is sometimes the cases are in bad shape and they have 3 stickers all over them. Otherwise it is hard for me to justify spending $60 on a video game. I'm old enough to remember when games cost $40-50 brand spanking new on release day. It has to be an epic game for me to buy first day. I can count on one hand how many games: GTA4, Bad Company, MGS4, Little Big Planet and Madden 09. I regretted the Madden 09 choice though. Here are some deals I have gotten at gamestop:
Warhawk $30
Bioshock $31.50
Assassin's Creed $21
Motorstorm $13.50
Im a bargain shopper. i always like to get good deals on things. example: a while back i found a coupon for buy 2 pre-owned ps3 games get one free at gamespot. I got MGS4, Burnout Paradise, and Star Wars TFU. for the price i woulda paid for just 1 one of those brand new!
also if you really look you can find older titles for pretty cheap brand new. look for rival stores that are near each other. Im lucky enough to have a wal-mart, k-mart, blockbuster, target, and best buy all within 5 miles of my home. these stores have bargain bins and sales that you wouldnt normally hear about. you just have to go and look. here are some great deals i got on older titles. but i got them brand new.
Assassins Creed (before it became a PS3 fav) $30
Dark Sector (great deal at wal mart) $14
GH3 bundle pack (day after xmas) $80
NBA Street Homecourt (last copy at k-mart) $10
The Simpsons (black friday sale at best buy) $10
I guess I do prefer to own games new. but if you can find a used one for a great price especially in this economy id say jump on it.
Only games I can't buy new...Like ICO. And I would Marvel Versus Capcom 2 if the prices would go down! :evil:SymphonycomethHA! Marvel Versus Capcom 2 is sitting comfortably on my games rack, as is FFVII muaha! But yes, I do buy used games quite often, because of the durability of Blu-rays I feel fine buying them pre-owned.
