I found it kinda weird i just ran to where i needed to go and once i put the gun to a guys head and i could search him for weapons and stuff ( that was cool) but I tried it again and he just turned around and killed me

Is that pretty much the whole game in the demo?

Definitely not, it's much deeper then how you explained it. It's a stealth game and the reason you could search him the first time was because you snuck up on him but the second time he noticed you and opened fire, it's an awesome game with many different ways to play. I think you should pick it up if the only playtime you've had with MGS4 is the demo.

Well, I'm just terrible at stealth games, so I was a little biased while playing the demo. It certainly was fun sneaking around, but I don't have the patience to wait things out so I usually always get seen by enemies. I'm sure the game is quite good, but stealth games are just not my forte. It's more me than it is the game...

Well what's great about MGS is that you don't need to be stealth. Yeah being stealthy helps but it is possible to blast your way through most situations.

even if you dont like the demo you should still get the game. the story is amazing and if you dont find yourself enjoying that, then you can play online. theres an awesome reward shop that lets you do very deep customizations of your character, the maps are really well done, and there alwalys coming out with new stuff, such as characters from the story to play with online, new maps, and all kinds of new clothing items. the game is great... if you havent played this game yet you def need to buy it!!!

I was hoping the demo would excite me enough to buy the game, but it didn't. I enjoyed playing MGS2, but I despised the needlessly long cutscenes and the gameplay wasn't quite enough to make up for it. At least for me, it wasn't. As a big supporter of the PS3 I almost feel guilty for not buying MGS4, but there are just other games I'd rather own.

I did buy LBP and R2, though, so at least I'm putting points into the PS3 sales numbers somewhere.

I just can't get into the MGS series. I have no patience for just snooping and sneaking around. It's just not my thing.

As somebody posted before, you CAN just blast your way through most situations. And Konami knows that, that's why they give you a ton of weapons and explosives in the game.

Also to the TC, I thought the demo sucked hard, and did not give the game the justice it deserved:evil:

Your complaining about a different result? This angers me almost as much as when someone in R2 Co-op complained when they were playing the same level again and instead of a certain amount of Chimera appearing in one area the last time he played the level, they appeared with a larger amount of Chimera and 2 bosses.

To late to judge the demo now since most of us already own the game since June.

First of all why is there a post about a demo for a game that came out months ago? Secondly no MGS demo will ever quite portray the total package. You should go buy the game now. Like right now. It is easily one of the best games of all time, and at the very least this console generation.

The magic of the game is that you can play it like a shooter or more like the tactical espionage style that was more "forced" in the previous titles, which makes it much more accessible.

Ehh... not really. You can get the gist without the previous games, but you will miss out on some key story elements. If you feel the urge to play any of them, the 3rd has the most to do with the game, and one level is basically a flashback/tribute to the first game so you may not get that reference. Of course you can buy the essential collection for 30 bucks which has a port of the original PSone game, and the directors cuts of 2 and 3.

Also, on the PSN you can download this really expansive MGS encyclopedia for free, it may help you out.

I figured that the demo would be that good and that's why I did bother wasting time downloading it. Plus I had the game ever since June.

No, MGS4 does great in explaining things. And the downloadable Database always helps, as does the Gametrailers Retrospective.
