Who else is pissed they paid $659.99+?

Yah i know nobody put a gun to my head and force me to by my ps3 but still i cant help but be sad that i could of saved $160 (CND $659.99 to now $499.99). I really was expecting a price drop so soon in the ps3's lifetime so i really feel it was necessary to wait to but it and now Sony pretty much slaps me in the face with a price drop. I could of bought 4 games with the money i could of saved!!

thats the price you payed to have such an advanced piece of gaming hardware earlier, i payed 1000 bucks for mine and i'm still uber glad i got it, if you want things first you have to pay for them.

What a guy... You changed the price to 399.99 on the guys quote. It clearly says 499. Anyways, even for that price, you're getting the discontinued version. Does anybody know they differences

AGREED!!! Even with the lack of games at that time the Ps3 was well worth it!!!! it's more then just a toy...boy!

I couldn't care less because i got mine really early and got to enjoy mine more , but what sucks is tat one of my friends bought the ps3 1 week before the-price drop, Now that you should be mad for but the sad part is all of hs other friends knew about the price drop we just didn't want to tell him :P

yeah, im pissed, now they droped the price it only confirms that i was ripped off. psn is joke. people forget sony is for a naiton of copiers, after they copied there way to the top there's only one place to go down. they should go back to copying, like copying the xbox. that might help them.F1sTDaCuffS

i know where people like you are coming from, but really, its a slap in your own face because you couldn't wait. we all know electronics get cheaper over time. i really don't get the people who say they bought one at launch or shortly after, but get pissed when the price drops. Btw i am slapping myself because i just couldn't wait :)

Really i respect sony more for dropping the price fast and i hope it continues. not to start a system war but thats what i don't like about microsoft. the 360 has been out for a long time and still has yet to get one. i know they aren't in a position to have to drop it, but c'mon. although with the whole 3 red light problem, i guess thats a major reason why they can't now.

I don't know when your purchased your PS3....I bought mine the original US release date in November. Between then and now, I've made much more than $650, and enjoyed logging in countless hours of Oblivion and NBA 2K7. Only if you bought the PS3 right before the price drop should this be an issue!

People do understand this. I think people on a tighter budget get more upset when they think of the money they could have saved. Its just a natural reaction.

i wont deny that i am upset about it, but what can we do, Sony made it's decision to drop the price and i made my decision to pick it up before the price drop. So I know I am mad at myself for not having the patience to wait for the price drop with all the rumours flying around

I think what people are really pissed about is that they dropped the price so soon. Seriously, what company has every dropped the price of a console after only 9 months? It's really not a price drop though. Once they sell all of the 60 gigs the price of the 80g will still be 599. I doubt they'll drop the 80g price to 499 by the end of the year.

MS is stupid for not dropping the price and with that extra 1billion in repairs who can blame them.

Either way it really doesn't matter since I bought my 360 at launch and my PS3 in Jan.

True all electronics get cheaper. Don't forget the cost of Blu Ray diodes were high as well. The PS3 has newer technology than other consoles so it costed more and now they are finding ways to make it cheaper like all electronics. You paid extra so you could have new technology before others. Simple as that.

I just bought my ps3 at the new and lower price of 499$ so first I have to say heh! - I got mine! heh :P

But I also wanna say that I never look back after a purchase when prices drop later on and get pissed or sad and that's cuz I know it's the nature of the game. Is how it works. I make my purchases when I feel comfy and ready and happy and all and if it gets cheaper later on I tell my friends to BUY NOW! you idiot! you're gettin great deal! But those of you who did pay early adopter high dollar need to consider this ... it's even WORSE than you think! Yah that's right. You see the dollar ain't worth now what it was back in November 2006, it's worth less with the curses of inflation and all, so you know what that means dontcha?
