Of course it was average, but an average launch title is something to be proud of. And I had so much more fun with Resistance than I ever have with Halo. I absolutely cannot wait for Resistance 2. but this is my opinion.
Idk, I keep trying to play it: It's not that it's a bad game: it just wasn't for me. I mean, I know the sequel will improve on any faults in the first game: but after trying to force my way through the campaign, I didn't feel anything special :(
I think if I get any FPS this year, I'll try out Killzone 2.
To me it was pretty fun. Not you know super special awesome but good.
I mean it was set during modern(past) time, had weapons that were inventive rather than fast gun, slow gun, big rocket gun, etc., but had creative things like tagging an enemy and then shooting them from behind a wall. Plus those aliens were pretty freaky.:P

I guess it's just my opionion: I don't want to say it's a bad game: because I can easily name a lot of worst games: I'm just surprised so many PS3 fans liked it.
If it helps to classfiy me, I think Half-Life 2 is one of the best FPS, at least ranks up there.

RFoM is a great game IMHO, so it goes above average. See the multiplayer is not as hot as CoD4, but people is still there... Not to mention R2 looks terrific.
I thought Resistance was a great game. Nothing like SUPER special because one it was a LAUNCH GAME! So it was definately amazing for that, but obviously as of now it's not like the best shooter out there which is more reason for you to GET the 2nd one because Insomniac knows what they're doing and it's way past launch now so it's more like them being able to go where they want with this one which is what they're doing since they have 60 player online and 8 player co-op and that new teaser trailer looked amazing. You'd definately miss out on a great game if you don't pick the 2nd one up but whatever your loss.
R:FoM being my first game on PS3, I thought it was pretty good. I can understand why you wouldn't like it as much... since it wasn't anything new. Nevertheless, it had decent story, tight game play, multi-player had ups and downs but still enjoyable. As far as Resistance2 goes, I am not too crazy of 60 players on mp maps? I think that's little too much, but can't pass that judgement until we get to play it.
I'm definitely getting the 2nd one, but the fact that Resistance: Fall of Man was my first taste of Next-Gen, it made me think much higher of it. It probably was an average game, and now it would be easier to realize it, but for me, and lots of other early adopters of it, it was a great game, and our official jump into this generation of gaming.
I think it was above average launch title or not to say its good for a launch title degrades it. What are launch titles cut some slack, we should expect more and im glad Insomnia steped up.
Insomniac got the online multiplayer perfectly right in my opinion. I honestly can't find anything negative to say about Resistance. It was my first game, I've had for over a year, it's the only game I enjoy playing online, and I'm still playing it more than any other game I own even today. Resistance = the epitome of FPS games, in a word, perfect
The whole idea of the game was really cool and fresh. I especially liked it how they played off of the Tunguska event. The weapons were sick, and definitely made you experiment on how to use each gun effectively. The only beef I had with it was that playing online was just overwhelming, then again I probably just suck...
It is an amazing game to me ive played through it on normal and hard, in hd the game looks so tight and there is no lag or graphical glitches, plus everything looks super smooth. Guns are too much gameplay is rewarding and it combines some of the best parts from all recent shootsers. Way above average.

I played the demo and bullet physics just annoyed me so much I couldn't buy the full thing. I dont know why but they just bugged the crap out of me. They looked like star wars lasers going at 5 m/h

I am really curious as to why people see this game as a must get. Maybe i am just picky when it comes to FPS...
I finished literally five minutes ago and thought it was great. At first I couldn't really get into it, but once my brother deleted my entire save file when I was two levels from finishing and had to play it all again, I really got into it and finished it today start to end.
I thought the game was great and a ton of fun to play. I'm looking forward to the second one which looks to be even 10x more awesome. 8-player campaign mode, 60 player online... /drool.
