I was. For one, the playing time in the level was way too short compared to the rest of the levels in Metal Gear Solid 4. Also, the boss battle against Screaming Mantis was a big dissapointment, I was expecting to have to swith my controller between ports again like in the original Metal Gear Solid! And the boss battle between Snake and Liquid was stupid, all you do is punch Liguid on top of a submarine until his health goes down while listing to music. By the time you get to that battle you get dozens of weapons and these two demon dolls from the previous boss battle to use on living thing, and you don't get to use any gear. I could just be because I was playing such an asome game, where the levels kept on getting better and better only to have the last one to be a let down. Overall though the game is still anywhere between a 9 and a 10/10.

All MGS games have a similar boss battles at the end. I loved them all.

And just like the other ones... I took me a while to get a hang of the controls; I died a few times. :x

man i loved the boss fight at the end of mgs4. it was classic with the music and health meter changing for all the metal gear games. just classic. metal gear solid 4 is a perfect 10 to me.

I absolutely loved it. Couldn't disagree more :S. It tied up the whole series in my opinion. Have you played any of the previous games, because that would probably explain why you didn't enjoy it if you haven't :O.

I was a big fan of the boss battle and it would be lame to do the same thing you did in MGS1, also wireless controllers chief.

The fact that you didnt understand the boss fight with Liquid Snake shows that your a newbie when it comes to MGS :D Anyway Im glad you still enjoyed the game, I do agree that the last act should have been longer but its no big deal. I thought the Mantis fight was awesome and had some really neat touches, for example if you do decide to change the controller setting then you will get a codec call saying it wont work this time  Overal, best current gen gaming experience. MGS4 RULES!

i think it would've been cooler if you had the Rex and Ray battle and then the two stepped out and fought it out at shadow moses. ofcourse then the story would've played out differently. as for the final battle its pretty cool but it lasts a little too long, and i agree that the rest of act 5 was pretty underwhelming

The setting was epic and visually spectacular, but the punch, punch, kick, kick fight was less than stellar.

you can change it with a wireless controller. I had to change the controller ports while playing MGS 1 on my PS3. You just press the PS button and reassign the controller to port 2.

The last battle was good as far as gameplay. It felt right, brutal and tenseand the different personas were masterfully managed.BBE and TBEcan be quite crushing if you are not carefull :)

The story sequences though, are probably the best scenes i'v ever seen in a video game or movie. Nothing comes close to the epicness of that fight, nothing.

It was a great boss battle imo because it summed up the entire Metal Gear Solid franchise. I loved that it was a straight fist fight as it felt more personal than if Liquid had jumped into a mech or fought at long distance.

If you played MGS1, the last fight would make more sense to you. I will agree that the Screaming Mantis fight was not as creative as the one against Psycho Mantis.

Aside from a few "WTF's" with some punches not connecting sometimes, I don't have a problem with it.

i was disapointed the first time. but the second time i accidently combo'd him and put his head into the wall, and the 3rd time i did more. you can bounce him off the wall etc. and make the fight actually really realistic. try fighting again and dont be so quick to just win it. not supposed to be hard, savor it yaknow

The fight was alot different and better on big boss hard. You actually have to master three different combat types. MUCH more satisfying. Best boss fight ever.

Yeah i loved it actually. It was pretty short but the content more than compensated for the length.

Reminds me, only on my seventh playthrough did i realise you can block when fighting Ocelot.

I also loved crawiling through the microwaved corridor, the cut scene playing... Seriously that gameplay sequence was like 30/10 for me... More than infallible.

I wouldn't have ended it any other way then a fist fight. Not like Liquid Ocelot didn't die anyway. I hope the TC realizes the reasons behind the music. :X

Act 5 in general was underwhelming. Not enough gameplay, too many pointless cinemas. The Ocelot fight was pretty epic though, easily the game's best boss fight (though REX v RAY comes close).

no it shows kojima still knows how to make old fans of the older metal gear games happy and satifisfied. it was a epic boss battle. the music the tension and emotion was all in there.

Thats how you end an epic game 4 years in the making. Thats how you end everything for Saga. The right way. The ending had me standing up the entire time. blow for blow. pound for pound. Liquid Ocelot vs Snake, then Ocelot. I dont even have words for it. I get tingles just typing about this ending. Out of all the ending of games I've played. This is by far the best ending to a Saga I've ever played and seen. If another Metal Gear begins, I wonder if the new hero can wear snakes epic bandana. (I said Epic a lot) THIS GAME IS FREAKING EPIC!!!

I can see how the final battle could be confusing but I thought it tied together the whole series extraordinarily well and was a beautiful show of pure genius.

The final fight was such an amazing fight, it just showed how they fought like men.....like brothers. with the music, setting, health bars changing and at the last health bar where they are exausted and old snake theme plays, is just an amazing sight to see. EPIC. Nothing comes close to the MGS franchise...let alone MGS4.

I wish the controls were a little tighter like with Rex vs. Ray, but going through the games history with the music there was pretty awesome and nostalgic.

for me the best boss fights hes done were all in mgs3 and mgs4 just seemed like over simplified clones of alot of the mgs3 battles. overal mgs4 battles and gameplay in general were just dumbed down more accessible version of what he perfected before. and for that reason i still think mgs4 wasn't necessary at all and actually started to move the franchise backwards. kojima a gameplay genuise to me so i was dissapointed to see alot of boss battles end up being over simplified version of things we've done before, i expected something new and amazing from him. its one of the reason i hope he puts the mgs series to rest

The Crying Wolf was a dumbed down version of Sniper Wolf and The End, I'll give you that. I did enjoy Laughing Octopus though.
