i mean thr pros would be this

faster games

better battery

huge storage so you can fit games like gta sas on there

tougher to break

i think the only bad problem is that they cant make the card very cheap to make but in my mind if the ds can pruduce cheap cartridges then somehow sony could make the stick cheaper.

also about the save games, they could save them to the card like the ds does

Ummm, so you mean like via PSN but horrendously less efficient? :\ Also, compare the storage capacity of a DS cart to an average sized PSP game and you'll see that your assumptions are pretty shaky.

If the games came on a memory stick duo like cart, it would definitely work. A 2gb memory stick duo runs about $30, less than the price of a retail game, and judging that the UMD has a storage space of 1.8 gb, it wouldn't be too far fetched. I think sony should've opted for carts instead of UMDs in the first place. UMD's are flimsy, and make too much noise.

A black 2gb stick runs for $30, the game maker needs to make money off of that game sold as well, so that would but the price at least $20 on top of that.

It's another Sony thing where they try to make their own market by developing their devices to use only Sony type memory sticks.

Yeah, i understand what there trying to do. But you they can't do a monopoly on an inferior format. (this isnt HD dvd vs blue ray) Oh and to answer your thing TC on GTA SA, SA is 1.2GB it can fit on a psp disk.

I don't know man, to me it's alot better what they did and release games in DL version and in umd format. With a memory card, it would be expensive but I do get what you mean. But memory card and cartridges are different in terms of cost and performance. And with UMD, it's cheaper to produce and can store more data than cartridges (correct me if i'm wrong here though).

I still in no way see the benefit over simply releasing them for download so people can put multiple games on their own memory sticks. I also think for people like me with huge game collections, keeping up with 200+ memory sticks would be an absolute nightmare.
