The game is pretty good, but there's no doubt in my mind that it will be the main event once it is patched.
My only complaint is that they don't give you any room to practice (a campaign), so alot of people just die right away when picking up the controller for the first time in this game.
True, there's no room for practicing. but I managed to learn the curves some how. and I never played Socom before. I think it's pretty good so far.The game is pretty good, but there's no doubt in my mind that it will be the main event once it is patched.

Its my first Socom Game and I'm likeing it a lot... the only thing I could think to change is add a quick play feature becasue it does get annoying to look through servers to find a game you like, but other then that its really fun...W1ckedGo0se...good point, but I think they have an update for that next. Im not sure, I hope so.
Edit: I usualy go to the same server. US central 8 or 9 and pick the same room or any that openned. works for me everytime.
What's a better way to practice then playing against other people? Socom has alot to do with strategy. Your not gonna learn how to create strategys by playing computers.DJ419Yea, but it sucks when people are batching over the headset when you are trying to learn the mechanics.
I just bought the headset bundle today and was wondering whether or not to unwrap the game or just sell it. I've never played a SOCOM game before, so I don't know if I'm just going to get frustrated with it and say "screw it". I can hold my own in COD, Rainbow Six, Counterstrike, games like that, but, as I said, I've never done the whole SOCOM thing.
So it's good? Have these alleged server issues been cleared up somewhat?

I'm really enjoying Socom so far, and it's nice to have an online PS3 game where people actually talk. :)CyberElite85People do talk alot on Socom. the High Stake Poker they talk too, and they use the PS3cam as well.

oh, they have plenty of practice. just enter an unranked game. oh yeah. FREEDOM
At first I was big-time dissappointed. But if you're willing to accept that this isn't a perfect game, it can be fun.
However:
Socom 4 had better blow me away. Or I think I'm done.
