ummmmm... no matter how long u have it u will never get 40 player online and as many people to play against on a multiplatform game escpically the ps3 version.coolasj19
Well I personally do not find the resistance online fun at all. I have sunk far more time into motorstorm online. I am more excited about the SP and content the darkness has to offer where as resistance seems like a halo/call of duty wannabe. Frankily, I am much more excited about SOCOM in terms of an FPS shooter online, and the darkness seems more like an action game then a shooter which happens to be my favorite genre. Finally, in the near future orange box is coming out and team fortress 2 will own. For now motorstorm and possibly crappy online darkness is good enough or me.
Resistance is one game I will never trade in. It has everything a great game should have.D_Znuhtz
Lol..I dont see how it is innovative at all really..I mean it was a fun game and I enjoyed it a few months but its not something that I am going to replay in 3 years..

i agree, i got so bored of resistance really quickly. There's nothing really for me that draws me in or makes me want to play. I'd rather play COD3 online instead of resistance anyday!
You should never trade in games. You ruin the gaming industry by doing so, and may regret it later when you want to play it and don't possess it.azuroc
i still have my jak and daxter precussors legacy, socom 3, and mgs2 &3, and ff10 and ff12, i just got the uge to play them thanks to u.

It works both ways dude when game developers/publishers bring down the prices of games thenandonly thenwill Istop trading them in. Because of extortionate new game prices sometimes I have no option but to trade them in otherwise I wouldn't be able to afford any new games.
On another note are there any reviews anywhere for the darkness. Can anybody point me in the right direction.

I still have the original black labe ffvii/viii/ix/mgs, etc..I have many classic games, and I dont see resistance holding up against any of these worthy titles. And how does trading in ruin the industry?
ill pass RFOM is better then the darknessrisi37
when where you able to play the darkness? could you give us some details on it?
Resistance is just an overall great shooter period, and quality shooters is the ONLY genre that PS2 suffered from not having enough of. So, having Resistance as a launch title for the PS3 was a great move and a very good indicator of more great shooters to come for the Playstation brand.
I for one love the game, and am glad to have to have it as part of my collection for whenever I am in the mood for a quality shooter experience. As for the Darkness, it will be killer in it's own respective way as well, and will just be a fineaddition to my game library....not a replacement, lol. Whatever floats your boat though.
if the reviews are good for the darkness i'll trade in cod3 for it, defintely not resistanceSOedipus
Yeah I would have done the same if I had bought cod3 ;D. But since infinity ward didnt make it i didnt bother getting it.

games do not have to be innovative to be good. Resistance is great, specially when you get into a clan and start having clan matches. So no i'm not trading my game for a the darkness, though i'm still getting The darkness (Go Sweden!).

I would never sell Resistance. At the very least for nostalgia reasons. The Darkness seems like one of those play through once 7 hour multiplats thats only worth renting.Lazy_Boy88
What in resistance is worth getting nostalgic over? I thought the SP was rather forgettable after the first couple missions.

2 things to get nostalgic over:
1. One of the first games to come out on the PS3
2. The first FPS on the PS3

Lol! so even if it was utter crap these two reasons would still hold up, which IMO makes them bad reasons to get nostalgic over this game.

True and that's why the definition of nostalgia in all dictionaries should be re-written as:
Something that is old that people still have very strongfeelings for.........even though it was totally useless or crap first time around!!

Lol! That is definitly a non-issue. I play my pc when I have an urge for a good shooter. Or I go back and play SOCOM. Resistance online is grossly underwhelming. Not to mention it is lacking simple features like vehicles.
Edit: Honestly, I had more fun with lost planet's multi then resistance's.

theres your problem this isnt a vehicle type game. if you want good vehicle/fps play ut2004. remember that you are playing an fps. vehicles ASRE NOT a basic feature of an FPS. they are however basic in driving games. in fps they are additions, and only good ones if the context is good for vehicle battle. it is not in resistance because this is a full bred shooter and you probably really arent good enough to get in a clan if you arent having fun online. it is hailed as one of the most intense online experiences out right now especially when you get a 20 vs 20 game going.[QUOTE="Dr_DudeMan"][QUOTE="Liams"][QUOTE="Dr_DudeMan"][QUOTE="Lazy_Boy88"]I would never sell Resistance. When I do sign on there are barely any games running...not to mention the fact that the only fun MP mode if 20 v 20 one shot kill. And that is just fun, that isnt even any serious skill honing. And why cant vehicles have been an option? Like in halo, you can turn them on or off. In huge tactical military games like this vehicles are a must. If the game was smaller a la gears then I could understand not allowing or any kind of vehicle.

I would almost call it corny. Halo's story sucks but they got the MP rite and resistance which clearly tries to mirror halo to some degree doesn't seem to get either right IMO. When I think of a good story driven fps I think of Jedi knight 2, half-life, half-life 2, etc...which actually have epic stories.

I am not trying to sell anything to anyone. Hence the IMO's. I just thought it would be fun to make a thread letting people know why I am getting rid of it, and I am simply explaining my side to those that question what I am doing. I dont see any harm in this, sorry if I bothered you.

What is a forum without opinions?
how about. if it's good or if i want darkness i'll just buy it. i only trade in games that are sports games or that i'm never going to play again. resistance online is still fun as hell. that's not going anywhere. especially in the midst of a resistance tournament? man if you want the game then buy it. but don't rely on turning games in every time. unless you are sure you'll never want to play them again. like 2k's baseball game. that was a waste of money and time. that's one of those "damn i wish i didn't buy this crap" games. oblivion and resistance won't be going anywhere though.
or motorstorm either. until maybe resistance 2 or motorstorm 2. and oblivion you can play FOREVER lol.
you will regret it. resistance>darkness any day. remember darkness is mutiplat resistance was biult from the ps 3 up not a port like darkness. GARRYTH
Here Here. RFOM has a special place in my heart :). I've played this game more consistently over a longer period of time than any other game ever.
