I am, i've taken good care of my system ever since i got it in early 2007 and i've had almost zero problems with it so and i had been wondering for while now, how many early PS3 adopters were still around and playing with their first system.

There was another launch model, the 20GB Ps3 which was basically the same except for the smaller hdd and the lack of built in wifi.

2007 model. 40 Gb PS3 Ceramic White. Got it as birthday present in 2008. I've been doing minimum external care only. Nothing is wrong with it but I'm sure there are a lot of dust inside.

I have the '07 40g. Runs just ike the day I got it. Never had a problem with it except it will NOT recognize PGA Tour 10. I've pushed it pretty hard at times especially with extended 12+ hour sessions on the Bethesda games & the R* epics. Web browser freezes up once in a while but reset clears it up. Still very quiet & the air coming out the exhaust is still relatively cool. My buddy's 60g is till running, but his blows air like a rabid hairdryer & it's pretty loud.

i also have a brand new 60gb still in its box not open JoKeR_421

I reckon for an unopened unit the bidding war would net you a MASSIVE profit. Hang on to it JoKeR. You've got a real gem there.

Yes I own a Playstation 3 60Giger made in Feb 2007. Just before Sony pulled the plug on the 60GB models with Hardware Backwards compatibilities for PS1 and PS2 games. In favor of second generation 60Gigers PAL region and First generation 80Gigers.

Yep I have the fabled PS3 60GB (The last offical PS3) Sony once had B/C as a main selling point of the Playstation series. After the 1st & 2nd generations Sony gave up on B/C.

I have 51 PS1 games and 125 PS2 games so the epic Playstation 3 60GB console was a must for me.

Well aren't you lucky! I got my very expensive 60GB PS3 in mid 2007. I took very good care of it, as I do with everything I buy, but it stopped reading discs 10 months into its life. Two replacement 60GB PS3's that Sony sent me also stopped reading discs. The last one was 14 months old so Sony wanted a rediculous amount of money to fix it. After that, I decided the fat PS3's were too unreliable. I sold my faulty 60GB and got a 120GB Slim. So far so good with the Slim, but yeah. Launch 60GB PS3's were, and still are, very unreliable. BC is nice but it's not worth the problems that come with it. The only people I know with working BC PS3's are those who never play PS2 games on them. If you want to play PS2 games, get a PS2.

I am happily still using my 60gb launch PS3. Mmmm the memories of skipping high school and being the first in line at Target, camped out for 2 days.

I play my PS1/PS2 games on my PS3 all the time and never have any problems with it, some systems were just faulty i guess man.

Got my launch 20GB still. Running great, I just opened it all up and dusted it out and replaced the thermal paste and it runs quiet as when I first got it.

I think the 20GB is the sexiest PS3; that fatty PS3 thats straight black with no lame ass chrome. My fav.

I gave up on the 60 gig model after having it replaced by sony 3 times in 14 months. After that I got a 40 gig model new and gave the third refurbished console away. my 40 gig lasted 2 and a half years, then died. I am now on a 320 gig slim, and it rocks. Also got a second hand 40 gig for the mrs to play battlefield with me on :)
