Example:I fight with the final boss and 10-15 minutes is passed.Out both lives are very low and if he win me then, it just so piss me off and i dont want to fight again. After this match my heart is beating very hard.Ofcourse some of the game bosses are easy and i beat them easily but still i hate them..At now im playing mgs4 and im middle of 3 act.The laughing octopus take me only 2 rations because that rolling attack.Rolled me twice but beside that it was easy but i didnt enjoyed that.I was like very focused to kill that boss.Playing on Solid Normal.

You DIDN'T enjoy the Laughing Octopus boss fight? Dude, it was brilliant. The Metal Gear series has some of the best boss fights in VG history, dating back to...well...Metal Gear 2 really. I mean, by todays standards the bosses in that game are nothing special. In 1990, they were unique, though. Things people had not seen before. They made you think to beat them and it wasn't as simple as memorizing a pattern. The more modern style has it's roots in the first MGS. Psycho Mantis. That boss fight was brilliant. Absolutely brilliant

I like most bosses, but many games get the difficulty mixed up. If you play a game on Hard, the boss should be pretty dam hard. I play too many games where the game is easy as hell, til you get to a boss, then you try and try and try and finally after like 10 attempts beat the dude. It should be a little more closely related to the difficulty settings.

I think games are really boring without bosses... Bosses mix things up. Especially in a first person shooter which seem to have forgotten the classic boss battles as of recent. Ever since around the release of Half-Life 2 (Which the only boss was the ant lion queen), first person shooters have kind of strayed away from creative boss battles.

I liked them, they are unique and keep the experience fresh. This is exactly why I did not find Resistence overly enjoyable at a certain point, among FEAR, and a bunch of other games... There are no bosses and just like 6-8 enemies in the whole game.

Difficulty is more or less irrelevant to me... Unless it's just straight up cheating (There are some bosses like Dhoulmagus from Dragon Quest 8 which is just impossible. You are pretty much forced to grind 20 levels at that point because he's so over powered). As long as the boss is beatable on any playthrough, albeit slightly difficult, I don't mind. I always play games on the hardest difficulty they throw at me the first time anyway...

I like bosses as long as they are not impossibly hard.

I really liked the MGS4 bosses. Although they would take a while to beat, they never felt overly hard - and you felt good when you beat them.

I hate bosses when it seems unfair, and when the bosses have lame taunts. I also hate bosses when the whole game tries to go for a realistic approach, then all the sudden the main guy who started the war is infront of you but instead of being a human like everyone else - he is pretty much a bullet sucker who seems immortal.

I love bosses. Especially the complex ones as in MGS, Zelda or Shadow of the Colossus. A boss does not have to be only an HP tank that will take millions of hits to kill. A boss requires strategy, that is what separates them from the standard enemy. MGS has spotted this and used it spectacularly over the saga. MGS 4 has some really spectacular boss fights. They really force you to think out of the box sometimes.
For example, The End in MGS 3 had several ways of killing him. You could look for his parrot, look for the reflex on his sight, look for heat signatures, ask SIGINT for help, etc. In MGS 4 is taken a step forward sometimes.

Boss fights help to set moods too. The epic final fight covered with fanservice in MGS 4 is a great example.

GOD! That was so COOL! Simple but yet so "sucks you in"
I loved how the health bars and names changed, really brings the animosity beetwen Liquid and Snake over the games
Screaming Mantis was the best boss fight in MGS4. (I think)

Followed by Crying Wolf.

Yeah definitly, the fight at the end of MGS4 was cool. I wish there was more obvious fight moves to use other than R1. I only used R1 and sometimes if I pressed L1 I would get into this button press event and choke him on the ground until I bashed his head on the ground.

But it was an awesome and satisfying fight nevertheless.

I won't read squat because I know people love to be insensitive in terms of spoilers. But WHAT? Bosses in any game, ESP MGS4 is a good thing. A reason to enjoy the game more. Imagine if Heavenly Sword or Assassin's Creed didn't have any boss like things! I'll tell you! FAIL.

I thought so. And the OP was smart enough to leave spoiler tags or even say it was a MGS4 thread. Thanks for confirming...because I would've been TICKED off...Like I was with having Uncharted spoiled for me.

I hate bosses! Mine is always psychologically threatening me and my co-workers with being fired if we don't perform. What a bltch!

At least she doesn't hover around the office like psycho-mantis.
