I wouldn't buy any sports game for $60. I like games for the stories they tell; I guess it all comes down to one's own preference, like I love pepermint ice-cream and dislike strawberry ice cream. Just because you think its a waste of time does not mean someone else should think the same way. I respect your opinion but not when its too abrasive...
i love EU football games, i'm not a huge fan of the actual sport, i watch the world cup and any match if its on, but i couldn't name any players beyond the obvious, there is just something really fun about soccer games to me.
Any sports game is a waste of time, especially american football and baseball games. Minna no Golf I will make an exception for because it is fun, unlike that tiger woods crap EA spew out every year.
I have to agree with you. Soccer games are not one of my favorites. Of course, I don't exactly like Soccer at all. Soccer is one of those games that its fun if you are playing the game, but its boring as all get out to sit there and watch. Nothing better then going outside with your friends for a game of soccer and then taking a ball off your forehead. ~grin~
It's all preference, you may love basketball games but soccer fans may hate it and you may think there weird for hating on basketball. Post is useless.
All I have to go on with soccer games was fifa 2001 for ps2, the gameplay on the newer games has to be more exciting. Being american it's hard to get into a game that I barely watchon t.v.
I wouldn't spend $60 for a soccer game either. I would spend $30 though ...next to a hockey game, soccer is my next favorite to play. Fifa has a solid franchise and never lets down. It's def. worth a rental and I think worth a buy after it's been out for half a year.

in the uk, maybe even throughout europe (im from the uk so i'll stick to that), football (soccer)games are big. The fact that the PS3 hasnt had a football game yet makes FIFA 08 and Pro Evo 2008 (my prefered choice) big news and i would even go as far to call them system sellers. they are far from a boring waste of time as you have made out

hey look its a jerk that probably thinks he is cultured and yet rags on other cultures that call a sport something different than he does!!! It doesn't matter what its called as long as the sport is the same. its all about coming together and having fun anyway. oh and making your opponents wish they had never played you .
Do you have some common or at least basic sense? Ofcourse if your not a football or soccer enthusiast then you wont be interested in a soccer vidoegame. :roll:
ok look i know a lot of people love soccer and i dont mind the sport either but im just saying that the videogames take away from the actual fun in soccer (thats just my opinion). And look i find american football games are the same way but i do have to say i enjoy playing hockey and baseball videogames. (its just my opinion)

i actually love soccer games, well i love the pro evo series that is. i cannot wait for pro evo 2008, i play this series more than any other. sometimes it can get too easy and then become boring, but with a group of friends its awesome, in my opinion anyway. i totally understand that people can find them boring though, its all preference, particularly in the states where the sport isnt very popular. i myself cannot get into american fottball games, simply because it isnt very popular here (uk) and i dotn understand the rules very well, so in the games i never feel like i know what im doing. i am however sure that if i sat down and tried to learn the game i would enjoy them also. thats the same of any sport, soccer just comes easier to me because of its popularity here, just as american football comes easy to people in the states, since its thier main sport. nothing beats playin soccer for real though, its the best sport to play in my opinion, although many people will disagree, each to thier own.
TC, you should have known before making this thread that you will get a lot of heat from the fans. Soccer is the most popular sport in the world. according to Fox soccer channel, 5 billion (yes billion) people watched the 2006 world cup. It's one of the most popular and fun sports to play and watch. I feel sorry for you because you don't understand it or like it. I can't wait for Fifa this year. I want to play the be A PRO mode. I want to be Rooney :) . I respect your opinion though.
